Pants are thin, not very warm feeling

I was hoping these would be truly heavyweight but they are thin and not immediately warm when you put them on. Probably fine for highly aerobic activities but they don't seem like they'd keep you really warm just hanging out, which is what I was hoping for.

I was looking forward to receiving these black leggings because I like to walk outdoors and at night, and I was looking for the warmth that they claim to provide. They're constructed with excellent quality, however, the sizing may run large for people. The outside "layer" feels like a soft cotton, while the inside layer has silver, dotted reflective material throughout the entire leggings. It's not exactly a "layer," rather it's the outside and the inside of the actual material. If you buy them too large, they'll sag behind the knees and around the ankles, which is what happened to me, and they won't keep you warm because of the bunching of the material. However, if I had purchased the correct size, these would've been great because I wore them outside today in 30 degree temps in the Boston area and I was toasty warm. For reference to help you decide on sizing: I'm 5'7" tall and I weigh 130 lbs, and I have an athletic-type body shape. According to the chart provided by Columbia, I should fit nicely into the size Medium, however, I was only in them for a few minutes before I realized they were sagging at the knees and falling off of my hips. It's so annoying when you have to keep tugging at them to keep them up and it's one of my biggest pet peeves when buying leggings, especially when they're $50 a pair. When I first put them on, they felt great, but as soon as I was in and out of the car and walking a short distance, that's when they seemed to really lose their shape. They do come in a pre-packaged box with a sizing chart on it, but I threw it out the minute I first tried them on. I like them so much that I'll probably search around for the size Small at a sale price.

Hey there Linda! That silver dotted material is actually their omni-heat! It reflects the heat back to your body to keep you warm! I have had one of their mid layers that offered this reflective material and it did keep me really warm! That is a major bummer on the sizing, I have a hard time finding a good fitting legging myself personally! Thank you so much for your review!

I am always cold, so finding solid baselayers is key for me and these definitely fit the bill! They're super thin and stretchy - perfect for layering under snowpants. Highly recommend!

Omni-Heat thermal reflective lining is the way to go. I am a cold human even when riding hard all day. The reflective lining really reflects from my body heat and keeps me warm all day! They are thin enough to wear under jeans when going to a football game outside at night also which is cool. I love these!!!!

I'm in love with these. I have two pair. I wear them all the time, not just outside. I'm a curvier girl and these move with me not against me like some base layers. The price is great, made very well. Love the waistband. Perfect for lounging or long winter hikes. Pair it with rain pants or snow pants. It'll be perfect. Washes and dries perfectly as well.

Works very well. I wore them under leggings for a 5k in 40ish degree weather and I was warm. Fit is true to size. I wear XS in Colombia and these fit well. I ordered them for a ski trip to Montana in January, I have high hopes for them!

I've always worn yoga pants hiking in the winter and some are thin and my legs get cold easily. I wanted to try something new and looked into winter pants, but didn't want full on snow pants. These are wonderful for the in between! I use them for snowshoeing and hiking in the winter/fall/spring/early morning hikes. They have heat reflecting on the inside which at first was weird, but it's so warm! It doesn't itch, it's just a different feeling material than cloth. After wearing them once, you won't be able to wear those thin yoga pants in the cold ever again!

Hi there! What temperature do you wear these out in and are able to still stay warm?

I needed a warm multipurpose layer for skiing, running, etc., and these work great. They're not super warm alone in frigid temps, but they will keep you cozy on a winter run or layered under a heavier pant.
