    Leave the matches at home.

The Coleman Northstar El Propane Lantern turns on without matches so you don't need a different light just to find the matches to light your lantern. An adjustable dinner knob lets you change the brightness, and the PerfectFlow system keeps the light constant. With a 16.4-ounce propane cylinder (cylinder sold separately), the Northstar can brighten your way for over nine hours, and the metal guard will protect the glass from the outdoors. The propane cylinder fits under the lantern and on top of the base.

    best ive had

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

ive had this lantern for close to ten years. Awesome unit, the single accordion style mantle seems to be more efficient than any dual mantle lantern ive ever seen. This style is also brighter than the dual style. buying this again for a friend who always comments on how much he likes mine. After about 2-3 years the piezo sparker became less consistent, as they usually do(cant really fault it for that). the plastic base isn't the greatest design, but i use an extra wide base designed for cooking stoves anyway so this really isnt an issue for me anyway. all things considered this is still the best propane lantern ive ever seen in action.
