    Gremlin’s first hog.

The groms have been clamoring for a pet hedgehog for whole minutes now. While you’re pretty sure that’s a passing interest (and you suspect they wouldn’t properly care for an actual living creature, anyway), they’re probably ready to rip around on the Hedgehog 16in Single Speed Kids’ Bike, a cool and easy-to-ride two-wheeler from Cleary. With just a single sprocket, the Hedgehog won’t take them up into the Alps, but it’s perfect for navigating the driveway, tearing up the backyard, and allllmost clearing the sleeping dog while they get their biking legs under them. (Apologies to Fido.)

From the parent/guardian point of view, stopping is as important as going, so Cleary outfits the ‘Hog with reliable V-brakes for speed control and includes grippy rubber tires for all-terrain terror. The details are on point, too, starting with the brown synthetic leather seat and extending to the front and rear reflectors that add a bit of style and safety for those twilight trips where you’re all returning from the neighbor’s cookout.

    • Get your little one on two wheels with the Hedgehog
    • Tektro brakes are designed for smaller hands
    • Internal cable routing minimizes tangles
    • Single-speed design simplifies riding
    • Quick-release on front and rear wheels for convenience
    • At 16 pounds, your kiddo can move it on their own
    • Not compatible with training wheels

    amazing bikes for kids

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

My son started pedaling on his 12" version when he was 2.5 .
great starter bike and teaches them handbrakes young

High Quality with Attention to Detail

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

What an awesome bike! Super high quality build for a kids bike with lots of detail. The chain guard and flip flop hubs are great. V-Brakes were great out of the box with levers adjusted for small hands. The 4 year old loves his new bike. It took him only a minute to learn how to brake with both hands. It’s light enough to push around. I expect it will last through a couple of siblings. Comes with multi surface slick-ish tires, but looks to have clearance for knobbier tires that I will probably switch to at some point. Great purchase overall.

    Love this bike!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

When my 4 year old was ready for peddles we upgraded him from the Cleary balance bike to the Hedgehog. He loves it. I love that he can practice using hand brakes at such an early age.

    Super Great Gift

Durable and rad. If you're trying to get your tyke into biking early, or trying to outshine and outgift some other parent, this is a great start. A little disappointed that I can't tear around on this, but I wouldn't be worried about durability if I ended up trying. Great buy! Little Miller loves tearing around the citywith it.

Great ride for your little kiddo

got this for my 5 year old. love that it doesn't have a coaster brake so its really light weight. just wish it came with knobby tires instead of slicks.

Can this be paired with training wheels?

Hey Robbie! I don't see why not! Most training wheels just bolt onto the side of the back wheel, and there is nothing that says that you wouldn't be able to this bike as well. Let me know if you have any other questions, contact details are above!
