Great in the surf

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I bought a pair for myself and my sister to wear in the Atlantic Ocean so we wouldn't lose our sunglasses, and these were extremely helpful! I kept getting absolutely pummeled by waves trying to boogie board and was really glad I had these attached to my shades. My glasses stayed firmly on my face, protecting my eyeballs from the sun. 10 out of 10 would purchase again.

Why Do I Keep Dropping Things?

After dropping my glasses while climbing and then dropping another pair of sunglasses to the bottom of the lake I decided that I was not responsible enough to keep my glasses on my head 100% of the time.

Chums never disappoint

I love these because they are a little bit more minimalistic that the generic chums. They keep my sunglasses in place while they are on my ear and also am not worry that they will slip out.

Chums Universal Fit 3mm

An essential for anytime you're on the water. These work best with thin earpieces.

Reliable

These things are great. They've kept my shades from falling off my head, many of times. Unfortunately, the adjustable / slidey thingy fell off mine, but they still work .

Great

These are great for my sunglasses! I would always loose mine but now with these I always have them!

Let Me Tell You About These Chums

Height
6` 2"
Weight

Honestly, cheapest insurance you can buy for a pair of sunglasses (I think). They have saved a couple of over priced sunglasses of mine from establishing a new home at the bottom of a river or lake.

Lost Oakleys first time out

Fit:
True to size

I used traditional croakies before this, and never had a problem loosing my glasses. The annoyance was how bulky those croakies where, so I tried these... And lost my oakleys first time out on the water kite boarding.

Love these

True to size

These are so great and I love the streamlined look of the cord. And so many great colors to choose from.

Functional

I trust these to keep my sunglasses on my face in all situation from snowboarding to boating. They also look very stylish. My only comment is the rubber can dig into my skin making them uncomfortable to wear at length. It also might be that my sunglasses aren’t compatible and are the problem. Even so, I would wear these for any activity and feel confident that they wont budge.

Chums

It's almost river float season, which means its time to take out that $8 insurance policy on your nice polarized shades so they don't end up at the bottom of the river this 4th of July.

Had a pair of Ray-Bans that went for a dive on the ocean after an unexpected big wave hit me on the back (sad). Bought these to make sure that doesn't happen again. So far so good, easy to plug and discrete (got the blue ones).

Sunglasses Help!

i bought a couple of these as gifts for the adventure men who go out daily and are always misplacing their sunglasses. These do the job and have some cool color options to choose from.

Do Their Job

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

I like the thinner size/lower bulk over some other styles, and the small rubber tips fit on both narrow and bulky sunglasses pretty easily. The square part for adjusting length is made of rubber so it shouldn't ding lenses if it hits them. The rubber ends don't go onto the sunglasses very far so they don't contact your head. The only downside is since they go straight out off the sunglasses, they make the arms longer, so they need to be taken off when you put your sunglasses in most cases.

Stringy

I wear Chums every single day with my regular glasses. I love these! They lay flat on the back of your shirt and they keep your glasses from slipping. Plus they are 100% style!

Keep it tight

still have my glasses after a week shredding waves at Lake Powell. what more do you need.

They keep your glasses on your face!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have owned several pairs of Chums over the years and of all the different models that I have tried, they all have one thing in common: they keep your glasses on your face. I use them for climbing, hiking and especially anytime I am on the river, be it whitewater rafting or just tubing the Weber. These things are life savers, especially on multi day trips when you would be S.O.L. if you lost your sunglasses. I like the low bulk design of the 3mm Sunglass retainers, they are my favorite model that I have tried.

These Chums are great. Not because they do anything incredible, but because they do what they're meant to do--keep your glasses on your head and not in the lake or on the trail.

I have had retainers or Krokies before. I wasn't too fond of them in the past but I thought I would give them another try. I think i just have too much thick hair for these. They work great when I pull my hair up out of the way. Do the job perfectly but when my hair is down it is more of a hassle for me. I ordered the canyon orange color which is a cute color. I really really wish they would work for me because these are great for not loosing your glasses!
