    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have owned a chrome bag for years and decided to buy one recently for my brother. The bag is versatile enough for him to wear around town, traveling, or to the office. He's thrilled with it!

    10 years and counting

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got this bag over 10 years ago when I was in college and it has been stuffed and carried almost every day since then. School, work, family duties, and the list goes on. Stitching and fabric is solid with no attempt to be gentle with it on my part. The liner is starting to crack at the main fold some. After another 10 years I will get another one.

    Awesome bag!

this bag is pretty big and i use it for a commuting bag,
easily holds tools tubes pump bike lock,
extra clothes and food to eat.
great bag holds alot of stuff...

    Solid bag

Great bag. Feels much sturdier than my old Timbuk2 that it is replacing. Conforms nicely to the body when riding. Not much in the way of internal dividers or pockets, which is both a pro and a con. It makes it simpler, and I feel like it can hold much more than a Timbuk2, but it also makes it difficult to carry small things around (phone, wallet, and keys all go in the single pouch pocket; flash drives and small important stuff in the zip pocket).

Overall I'm happy with the bag. It seems like it'll last a very long time, and is great for commuting, and traveling (can easily fit everything you'd need for weekend trips).

    Best of the best

This is my second time around with a chrome bag. I had one for years and got rid of it for no good reason. Since had moved onto a backpack where I never felt completely comfortable with the capacity to comfort ratio. I've learned my lesson.

Chrome bags are the way to go. Comfy quality and function.

Just what I've been looking for.

Been wanting a chrome bag for years and now I've got one. I've had more than a few messenger bags over the years and this one is easily the best. Very well made and designed to eliminate common problems like load shift. While not perfect, the placement of the shoulder strap and the stabilizer are far better than other bags. I've found that a flat item like a clipboard or laptop along the back of the bag help to keep the bag still on my back while ridding.
The only downside and the reason I hadn't bought one before now is the price. But after unpacking mine from the box, it was very clear where my money went. Would definitely buy this again.

1 Strap Messenger Bags Not For Me

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Speaking about quality, this thing is great, like the rest of Chrome's stuff. Filled it with ice and used it as a cooler numerous times, let it air dry and filled it back up again. It has survived a lot of travel too being used as my carry on.

Pros: 1.Water proof 2. Can add an optional organizer 3.superb quality that is standard to all Chrome products 4. Looks cool

Cons: 1. Maybe I was doing it wrong but this seemed to slide off my back while riding, I constantly have to readjust. 2. My friends constantly feel compelled to push the button regardless if my bag has clothing, my laptop, or glass bottles of beer 3. Single strap would fatigue my shoulder, big issue if I am packing for a long day while traveling. 4. The waterproofing gives me a sweaty back. 5. Pricey(but you get what you pay for here!!!)

1 Strap Messenger Bags Not For Me

      Great Messenger Bag

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great for transporting stuff on a bike when you're leaning over and for style points, but if you're looking to carry it around like a backpack, get a backpack. If you need a laptop bag, get a laptop bag. Chrome makes super durable and stylish bags, but the one strap style isn't as comfortable when it gets really heavy.

Holds plenty, and the optional laptop sleeve attachment that hooks to the inside works fine. The Night color is really cool. It feels like its made of a more solid material with the reflective stuff weaved in, not to mention it's safer at night. I prefered to not unbuckle it and instead hoisted it over my head to put it on and take it off. I later realized I'm more of a backpack, briefcase, shoulderbag kinda guy.

      These bags are raaaaad!

This is my second Chrome Messenger Bag. I had a smaller one I rarely used because of the size. This one holds it all though. I can store my 15" laptop, notebooks, textbooks, pencils, erasers, and I have room for spare bike tubes, a handheld pump, bike tools, and even spare cables for phone chargers, USB, etc. I chose to really make this bag my own and put patches all over the front, back and inside. I think they look killer. They are durable, well made, and not too big. Also, the inside pockets are lined with a waterproof material which is genius. The buckle and strap is seat belt material and it is way convenient to unbuckle the strap rather than slinging it over your head to take it off or put it on. I would recommend this to all. The size it perfect for that I do.

      These bags are raaaaad!

      Boyfriend's Prize Possession :)

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I purchased this bag in Black/Black as a birthday gift for my boyfriend about a month ago. He needed a messenger bag and had mentioned numerous times how badly he wanted a Chrome bag, but he didn't want to spend the money on one, so before he could buy something cheaper I splurged and surprised him with it... Let me tell you - he loves me more than ever! He takes this thing everywhere, whether walking or riding, because it is so versatile! It fits his 15" laptop and some books nicely, we take it with us when we go grocery shopping in addition to my backpack (he can even get a 6 pack in there with room to spare!), but I think what he loves most of all is the perfect little pocket for his U-lock. The one click release of the strap is awfully convenient as well, and he says that it is nice and comfy, even when full of books or groceries. Two thumbs up for sure!

      City slicker boy bag

You'll get some snarky comments and condescending stares from hip trendy fools that put brakes on their bikes, but this bag feels great and is VERY functional. The bag has hefty waterproof cordura, and the tarp liner is a lifesaver for cleaning and for not having a soggy back if stuff spills or sweats. It also creates a huge stash pocket also, handy for sneaking your "water" into concerts or what have you. Specific U lock pocket, the quick release, and color scheme are just icing on the cake.

Good if you don't weigh it down

This is a great bag that I frequently used for commuting to work. My only complaints were that it did not function well as a laptop bag and was uncomfortable if you had odd shaped items inside such as boxes or anything with hard corners. The buckle is awesome for taking it off and putting it back on. I stopped using this bag however after I got a herniated disc in my lower back last spring and now I soley use a back pack instead of any type of shoulder bag.

          Unanswered Question

For the Black/Black the upper portion of the bag appears to look more of a brown/java color. I was wondering if this was a mistake of lighting in the picture or it actually is that brown color.

          Unanswered Question

How long does the shoulder strap extend to on the chrome citizen Messenger bag? I need a strap that is approx 62 inches long [158cm]. Do you have other large messenger style bags with a long strap?
