Nice parts - hard to get a good preload

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Very high quality especially compared to the mild steel bearing IS-2 that came on my Cervelo. All of the pieces look great and should last forever. Assembly is another story - so far it is impossible to get the upper bearing snug enough to keep it quiet over hard bumps. Twisting the fork back & forth while torquing definitely helps but doesn't quite get me there. If I go back to the F*A upper bearing & cap, with the spec'd preload of 17 lb-in, I immediately have a quiet setup. I ride the DropSet 40 to 50 miles, release the bearing cap and stem bolts, retorque while twisting and ride another 50. I'm hoping I'll eventually achieve quiet.

Bought the Turquoise for the bling

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

It was a drop in easy swap of Head sets from my Cane Creek to the Chris King. Much easier than on the older bikes with bearings that are pressed in. The upper and lower Chris King bearings drop right in on my 2020 Yeti SB140. The only challenge I had was trying to get the Cane Creek crown race off the Fox shock. i use to use a screw driver and hammer to get these off in my older bikes. But this one was on really tight with no crack large enough to get a screw driver in. Took shock to my local bike shop and they took the Cane Creek off and put the Chris King crown race on. Took them 15 minutes and they didn't even charge me. The new crown race came with the Chris King headset I purchased so you shouldn't need to buy it separately. Since my Cane Creek headset was less than 6 months old, it really didn't need replacement, but I bought the Chris King Headset for the turquoise bling. Once I installed it, I felt this new purchase to be fully justified. It did improve my bike, Front end felt more solid and these bearings are so smooth. The best part was I was able to install my Cane Creek headset onto my Son's Yeti as a replacement for his creaky old head set. If you have a high end bike the Chris King Headset is a most awesome upgrade bling bling or no bling.
