    A time-tested favorite.

Suitably named for its speedy sensibilities, the Castelli Men's Velocissimo Bib Short maximizes long days in the saddle with the euphoric comfort of its nine-panel design and KISS Air chamois. These bib shorts are an everyday workhorse destined for weekend club spins and grueling training rides, thanks to Affinity 210 gram Lycra. This stretchy, moisture-wicking fabric provides a body-contoured, streamlined fit. The redesigned Doppio waistband retains maximum comfort, all without uncomfortably digging into your skin or annoyingly riding up. Breathable mesh bib straps retain a secure fit without drenching you in perspiration as you push your cadence in stifling conditions.

Taking design inspiration from Castelli's Progetto chamois, the KISS Air features a Bacteriostatic treatment that prevents saddle sores after long-distance rides. This seamless microfiber chamois supports and stabilizes your body with its multi-density construction, which increases in thickness from 4mm along the front and sides to 14mm along the rear where you exert more pressure. Its dimpled structure speeds up moisture evacuation, preventing the sweat-soaked feel of a less-breathable chamois. Finishing touches like sublimated GIRO3 leg grippers hold the shorts in place and reflective viz details pop brilliantly to passing traffic on the road.

    • Cycling race tech comes to the everyman bib shorts
    • Gently compressive material wicks moisture
    • Multi-panel construction fits like a skin upgrade
    • KISS Air chamois is comfortable to the point of lewdness
    • Mesh bib straps disappear under a jersey
    • Features the same elastic leg grippers as pro models
    • Castelli proves that comfort matters for us aspirants as much as for the professionals

    Great bibs for the price

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 150lbs

I'm 5'10" 150ish pounds. Medium fit but are a little snug. Then again I would much rather have a snug fitting bib than something loose and baggie. Great bibs for the price! Super happy with these.

    Good Chamois, but run small.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 175lbs

I bought one pair of these a few weeks ago on massive sale, just to give them a try - the $$ risk was relatively low if they didn't work out.

On the advice of other reviewers I bought a size up from what the size chart said - a large instead of medium. Good choice. The chamois is pretty good - thicker padding and firmer than my other kit, but in a good way. The straps run a bit short (I'm 6'1", long torso) and are a little tight when standing, but it's not a problem in the riding position. The leg material is really thin and very form fitting. Getting them on requires the usual fiddling to get everything in place, but once there it stays put and the shorts seem to disappear, I can’t feel them at all. “second skin” is a good description.

Last weekend I had two 175 mile rides wearing these and they came through beautifully. No issues at all with the bibs or my comfort in them.

I haven’t had them long enough to assess durability.

    Comfortable, but not durable.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

So I have 3 pairs of these. I really liked the first one when I got it, so I got more. Unfortunately, 2 of them have worn out prematurely. The fabric got kind of see through in different places on the two pairs of shorts. I'm wondering if this is going to happen to my other pair. I have like 8 or 9 kits I wear, so they don't get super heavy use. I have other shorts I've had for longer (Sportful Grupetto Pro) that are still going strong. Also, the chamois on one pair became delaminated, so to speak. The middle layer became detached from the bottom and top layers and the foam or whatever is in there got all bunched up. I was able to unbunch it, but it happened again. However, as this happened just within the one year mark, Competitive Cyclist took care of me and warrantied them. I replaced one pair with another of the same before the second pair started to wear out. So as a result, they're allowing me to pay the difference and upgrade to a different model.

So in conclusion, Competitive Cyclist customer service is awesome, and the shorts are really comfortable, but it's too bad that two different pairs wore out prematurely on me.

    Quality product

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 205lbs

These bibs run small (as you might surmise from most of the other reviews). That said, after I bought these and my first ride with them, was the Mammoth Gran Fondo. I was struggling with slight road rash prior to this ride, and after caring for this condition (Neosporin helped a lot!) I wore them on this beautiful ride. No discomfort whatsoever! They performed beautifully, even if I did not. These bibs are what one should expect from a product by Castelli.

    Fit is off

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 155lbs

I have several Castelli bibs, and these are a full size smaller than any of them. Castelli usually runs small, but these are even smaller than the normal Castelli fit. Otherwise they seem to be good shorts.

    Weird fit

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: X Large
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 174lbs

I have been wearing Castelli bibs for decades, but the design of this model is very different. the waistband in front, between the straps is very low and digs into my stomach. I would only recommend these if you have 1% body fat, and an absolutely flat stomach.

    Good Shorts

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 125lbs

First pair of bib shorts. Fit is snug and supportive. Leg compression seems good, although feels tight at first. Hardly realize I'm wearing them once on the road. Comfy chamois with no problems noticed on a 2-hour ride. Presume they'll wear well since the quality seems good.

    Short and non great quality

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 180lbs

Having read that this was tight I bought the XL which even at my height is very tight. After the first time I wore it, I saw a small hole in the bib and the 2nd time some of the stitching was coming apart.

    Great Bib shorts

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Xtra large
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 165lbs

These shorts are really comfortable. Glad I paid attention to comments relative to sizing. I purchased extra large and they fit well.

    Excellent quality & fit

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: large
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 170lbs

Very good quality & overall fit BUT THEY DO RUN SMALL! I usually wear a Large & that's what I ordered (I'm 5'9", 170 lbs, 34 waist) and they do fit very snug like a second skin so if I ordered again I'd go for XL. Otherwise the proportional fit is good and the chamois is more firm than the spongy ones on some bibs so it's more comfortable on longer rides. Hopefully it will stretch just a bit after washing a few times.

    Disappointed

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 170lbs

I bought the Velocissimo on sale as I have had great luck with my other Castelli cycling wear. Like the others, this item runs a good 2 sizes small, so order up. At 5'11" and 170, my other Castelli bib shorts are a medium. These fit just right at XL. Additionally, if you are at all broad in the shoulders, the bib straps pull a bit. The quality of the bib shorts and jersey are top notch, but after 10 miles or so I seem to get extra uncomfortable in the crotch. The chamois seems to be wide, as if designed for guys with spindly legs. Consequently, they rub a bit more in the groin crevices (if you know what I mean), leaving me irritated both physically and mentally. Maybe after a few more rides the pad will soften enough to not cause trouble, but, I guess only time will tell. All in all, if I had to to it all over again, I wouldn't recommend these shorts

You get what you pay for

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small

Castelli loyalist. Needed some bibs to add to the arsenal. Fit was way off than the race cut stuff I wear. 2 months in the seams started to rip where the bib straps connect to the bib. Then the back of the bib strap started to rip a month later. To finally incur it's finally blow which was the chamois pulling away from the bibs and creating a massive hole. The chamois also created a saddle sore, a first for me. All and all, if you want disposable bibs this is it. You get what you pay for.

    Comfortable

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 170lbs

Very comfortable bib. Solid quality as well. Size seems to run a bit small... But not too bad.

Great Bibshorts & Great Customer Service

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 155lbs

Lots of people saying these Castello bibshorts run small, but I find them sized about right, yes they are a snug fit but as soon as you get on the road you soon forget you even have them on. the only real problem is Castelli's quality when it come to stitching but I'll forgive them for that as they as so comfortable and Competitive Cyclist are fabulous when there are any problems.

    Love these Bibs

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 163lbs

Bought these Bibs to replace an older pair on Louis Garneau. The Castelli's are so much nicer. The fit is small(size up). I have worn them already on multiple centuries and have been very please with the comfort. Will probably be buying another pair soon. I am 6'0" and 163lbs with a 33 1/2" cycling inseam. Usually I wear a large but the XL fits perfect.

    Awesome customer service!

    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 2XL
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 210lbs

After hearing about how comfortable Castelli bibs were I decided to check the reviews and purchased these. Based on the comments I double checked the size chart and compared it to the other brands I own, sadly once I received them I could barely fit in them. Spoke to Luke in customer service and not only did he place the order for the larger size (matching the previous sale price I had paid) but also sent me a UPS label at no charge; all with a great friendly and professional attitude! Kudos to you guys for making the customer feel appreciated
As far as the bibs are concerned, don't go by the chart order 2 sizes bigger so that it fits properly, refuse to go out there like a stuffed sausage!

    Great shorts, but the sizing....

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XXL
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 180lbs

Love these shorts, ideal for long rides.

I'm 6'2" and 180, and I squeezed into the XXL. Thought they might be too small but fit like a glove once I was pedaling.

great looking product, but sizing is off

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small

Never got to try it. Sizing chart said a size 35 waist is a large. Well not even close. This product runs way to small.

    fits like a glove

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: large
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 160lbs

these bibs are so nice and fit perfectly for me .... i am 5'9" 160 lbs and i bought a large based on other comments about castelli bibs ... when i first put them on it felt funny but when i was on my bike it was all business ... i put in 70 miles and hardly knew that i was wearing anything ....

    Great shorts - Run Small

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 155lbs

Great, comfortable and stylish bib short. These do run on the small side so don't pay attention to the fit guide, go a size up. I am 5'11" 155# and the large fits great and comparable to a medium in Pearl Izumi shorts which I also own.
