Why We Like The RoS 2 Shoecover
As the name implies, Castelli's Rain or Shine (RoS) apparel is made for rides in all conditions, and the RoS 2 Shoecover is here to keep you on the road through sunshine and thunderstorm. The main fabric is windproof and water-resistant, and Polartec fleece lines the front and side panels, keeping your feet warm and dry when conditions are anything less than ideal. The fabric may trap valuable heat, but it remains breathable to prevent the buildup of moisture when conditions are in-fact ideal, making these shoe covers perfect for rides no matter how the skies look beyond your front door.
Castelli engineers the RoS 2 Shoecover with contoured seams for comfort about the ankle, and with tall cuffs to seal out water along your lower calf. The water-resistant zipper travels down the length of the booty, and is aided by a pull tab at the heel to make putting on and taking off a breeze. A reflective heal cap boosts visibility to other road users when a sunny afternoon ride becomes a dark and stormy affair.

Perfect for SF winter
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit:
- True to size
- Height
- 5` 4"
- Weight
- 130 lbs
My feet are always frozen, but not anymore! These are perfect for chilly SF mornings and keep my feet nice and warm. SF temperatures vary a lot, so I appreciate that they keep my feet warm in high 30s to low 40s, but also don't make me sweat unbearably when it warms up on the way home to high 40s/low 50s. Relatively easy to get off and on. I also tried to the Estremo, which were great, but just too warm for the variety of temperatures we have in SF.

Does anyone know what exactly was changed from the original RoS shoecover to the RoS 2?

Hi Bodo, Excellent question and not a lot really. The 2 has PolarTec Stretch fabric that is a bit better in the wind. Slightly updated fit to get over the shoe better. But nothing crazy as far as differences, zipper placement is a bit different also if I'm not mistaken.
