    Strategical layering companion.

Layering isn't just for freezing-cold rides, it's actually a strategic way to actively manage your core temperature and curb excessive sweating when it's warm outside. Proving this point, the Castelli Men's Pro Mesh Sleeveless Baselayer effortlessly layers underneath a myriad of cycling jerseys to regulate your body temperature and manage moisture, regardless if you're suiting up for frigid conditions with a thermal long-sleeve or riding through sweltering weather in your lightest, most breathable jersey.

Castelli's 3D mesh fabric remains cool-wearing and comfortable underneath your favorite jerseys and actively pulls moisture off your body to keep you cooler in summer and warmer in chilly transitional seasons, such as late-autumn and spring. It sits tightly against your skin, which further aides in its ability to pull sweat off your body and features a hem that lies flat underneath your shorts. Additionally, it's finished with vivid sublimated graphics for extra flair when you unzip your jersey for ventilation or even take it off at the cafe afterwards.

    Castelli Pro Mesh Sleeveless Baselayer

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'4"
    • Weight: 164lbs

Does what a sleeveless baselayer should - soaks up sweat. The grey is a nice neutral color that goes with everything. It's a bit short for me but as it is, doesn't really affect it's performance, i just wish it were 1-2" longer (I even tried an XL and it wasn't noticeably longer just baggier).

A note on my experiences with Castelli sizing: yes, normally I size up. Jerseys I am XL, socks XXL, I still have no idea on bibs as I haven't even attempted it, warmers have also been a problem (I'm thinking the sizing is similar to the baselayers?). Their baselayers appear to be 'true-to-size' but YMMV. I ended up keeping the Large over the XL, largely based on others comments I ordered both because I wasn't sure. Hopefully this saves someone the trouble.

    Great Base Layer

I have been a fan of these base layers from Castelli for some time. I almost always wear a base layer (even in the summer) and these are an excellent length, weight, and fit - plus a little accent color never hurts!

Just a note on fit - I wear an XL in the Castelli aero race jersey but size down in the base layer to a Large - not sure if the same dynamic holds true in the smaller sizes but you may want to consider one size down to have a snug fit.
