    Nelmezzo Ros Limited Edition Jersey

Take the form-fitting cut and breathability of a thermal jersey and add protection from the elements like a lightweight shell and you get the Men's Nelmezzo Ros Limited Edition Jersey from Castelli. As part of its much-lauded RoS collection, its Nano Flex Xtra Dry adds insulation and reduces air permeability in dry conditions while the water-repellent dual-face, tight-knit fabric keeps you dry in wet weather. Castelli claims that the double-layer fabric keeps the wind out better than a traditional jersey, but since it lacks a membrane, it offers maximum breathability which is why it bestowed the name Nelmezzo meaning "middle" in Italian.

We found it to be more than adequate when the roads are wet, or during light precipitation, although, you'll still most likely want a shell in really rainy conditions. Its YKK Vislon zipper allows for easy temperature regulation once conditions become better. And since cooler, wetter conditions usually accompany lower lighting, you'll appreciate the reflective armbands and back panel helping to increase your visibility to motorists.

    Not for U.S. shoulders

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small

Nice jersey/jacket. It is too tight around the neck and shoulders for me however while the length is perfect (medium chosen for 5'9", 140 with wider shoulders for a skinny cyclist). I'll mention the place of manufacture in order to try and help ahead some light on the elusive Castelli sizing (their items are not at all uniform throughout their range). This is made in Bosnia, and I've found that the Castelli items made there are generally the smallest. (Many Sportful items are made there too they and seem to fit the same). While the Castelli items made in China tend to fit me well except for bib straps--those are generally VERY tight (with the exception of their Nano Light Pro bibs which add stretchy lycra to the straps). Castelli's made-in USA tops (those are mostly just team clothing) seem to fit true to size. Size medium (tops and San Remo speed suits too) fit me well while the US team-bibs and TT suits fit me in size large. Castelli's made-in-Romania items seem true to size WITH slightly tighter shoulder areas (but not as tight as their Bosnian items). Finally their jerseys made in El Salvidor seem to be on the large size--I actually wear a size small in team "Training Jerseys". Hope this helps. Lucky CC offers an excellent return policy which unfortunately I tend to use often!
    I'll keep trying....

I'm no expert on the variability of sizing by contractors located in different countries, but I do know this garment (Nelmezzo RoS Limited Edition Jersey) runs small. I'm 5'10" and weigh 158 pounds. My chest measures 27" and my waist 32". The neck, shoulders, sleeves and length of the body are fine but the torso of a size medium is extremely snug. When I pull the jersey on, I have to close a four inch gap at the hem to engage the zipper pull. After zipping-up, it's tighter than any top I own other than a base layer, but has enough stretch to be comfortable. It doesn't restrict movement in any direction or feel uncomfortable in any bike position, and stays in place. It accommodates a base layer of average thickness with no noticeable increase in tightness. If you're uncomfortable in tight jerseys or intend to wear a heavy base layer (Merino wool) or more than one layer under this jersey, then you probably need to size up.
