Power-spooning.

Everyone knows a spoon is better for displacing liquid than a knife, so Carlisle gave the blade of the Magic Plus Fiberglass Paddle an efficient, slightly spooned shape. This provides added leverage for powerful strokes and performance. The lightweight fiberglass straight shaft flexes so it's forgiving to your arms, and its center button allows for 60-degree feathering.

  • Fiberglass blade and shaft ensure long-lasting durability
  • Asymmetrical dihedral blade shape offers a smooth, powerful stroke
  • Two-piece push-button breakdown shaft design ensures easy storage

Very happy with the paddle

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

We bought a Magic Plus 230 and really like the paddle; light and efficient.

Great

I can't wait to use this paddle, feels good in the hands and is wicked pretty. Alas it's almost May in upstate NY and we still have snow on the ground. So far works great to hit your husband in the ass from across the room. Nice and light.

Great paddles

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I love these paddles. We bought 2, one longer for the husband, this length for me. I have small hands and the diameter of this shaft is perfect for me. I also like that the joint after the shafts are attached together are nearly perfectly smooth so one is not catching the skin of the hands on a rough seam. The paddles are nice and light; neither of us felt any arm or shoulder fatigue after a day of paddling. The paddle is well made and, at least after a few uses, are holding up well.

Great Lightweight Paddle

Bought these to go with the wilderness systems pungo 120 kayaks. Wanted something lightweight yet durable and these were the right fit. Easy to use and very functional for kayaking use.

Great paddle for the price

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is a great beginner / intermediate 2 piece paddle. Lightweight , nice amount of flex in the shaft and blades. A big plus is the adjustable offset. Initial use, the blades seem to be holding up to impact of rocks.

Great value paddle

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

One of my first paddles was the Magic, which has an aluminum shaft. I saw the Magic Plus on sale, ordered one, and we definitely prefer the fiberglass shaft for its lighter weight and good balance. The larger blade rewards aggressive, high-angle paddling with brisk forward momentum. We especially like the larger blade of this paddle in rougher water (and even wave-surfing) when fast corrections are necessary. We liked this paddle so much that I purchased another. So now we have three Carlisle brand paddles which are all pretty decent. I give this four stars only because I also have a carbon low-angle paddle which I use in perfectly calm water, and know there are better paddles, but they cost considerably more.

Lightweight and Comfortable.

The fiberglass shaft is comfortable with a nice grip diameter. Not as flexible as I thought they were going to be. A little on the stiff side, however gives you a great response. I am a recreational kayaker and use this mostly on lakes and it provides all day comfort. Awesome quality and price for what you get.

I’m 5 foot 7 what size should I buy for a paddle for kayak

How do you know what size to order? I’m 5 feet 7 inch

I just received this paddle and one side of the paddle has an area on the shaft that is built up and "ovaled." The other side of the paddle has a uniform round shaft. Was I sent two different style halves?

Hey Donkeydong, Everything you were sent is correct. The asymmetrical shaft shape is designed for a more efficient stroke. One hand the shaft is able to rotate freely in your palm while the other hand has a firmer grip to hold the paddle in a correct orientation. It's science, roll with it.
