I WISH they worked for me...

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 10

I am 5'5", 140, and muscularly curvy in the butt and thigh region. I was hoping that a size 10 in these pants would work, based on other reviews and the size chart.
In my head, going to use these for downhill mountain biking, and some muddy, rainy-day hikes/ walks/ romps in the dog park. I wanted a slighty-stretchy, lightweight, but also durable pant. And I really, really wanted to like these! They fit the bill in all areas, except for fit. The waist and legs fit great (not too snug, not too big), but the hips were more accommodating than I needed them to be. I tried a smaller size, but when the hips/ seat would fit, then the legs/ waist were too tight. Agh!
The proportions just didn't work out in my favor. ...Bummer, too. Because they would be a great, versatile pant to add to the quiver.

One Pant to Rule Them All

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 8 and 6

My work as a ski technician this winter had me running all over Park City, delivering rental skis and boots, fitting boots, setting DINs in anything from a swanky condo living room to the base of PCMR. I relied on these pants to keep me warm and agile to be able to focus on my guests. The fit is a worthy update from the standard Carhartt (or wearing your bf's pair that he mysteriously "hasn't been able to find"). It's slim without feeling restrictive. The fabric has a nice amount of give to it, a bit more worn-in feeling than my coveralls, for example.

The pockets allowed me to always have my trifecta of pen-sharpie-screwdriver close at hand, yet out of the way of movement.

I have two pairs, a 6 and 8, which frankly fit pretty much the same. The 8s do stretch out worse, and end up looking a bit frumpier after a few days. A quick wash and dry (on low), and they're back in action.

    New favorite work pants

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

I found these on clearance someplace else and I'm happy to see them here. I will be purchasing more before the archaeology season starts here. I'm very curvy and was surprised to find that these actually did fit (I still have to wear a belt, but I have yet to find a pair of good work pants in which I do not need a belt). They are very comfortable for denim and much more comfortable than I have experienced with Carhartt. I haven't actually worked outside with them yet, just worn them around the house and in the yard a bit during winter, but I have a feeling these will become my new work pants. They fit the bill for what I need as an archaeologist - durable, pockets, and the ability to move without the pants being uncomfortable or too revealing.

Not Frumpy and Will Do The Job!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these pants a couple years ago because I was tired of tearing up all my jeans and stretchy athletic pants.
I'm quite active in hiking, camping, climbing and was hoping to use these pants during those activities.
DISCLAIMER: if you are curvy or have a nice booty bump! first of all, i'm jealous.. second, you're going to want to check out the REGULAR FIT not slim fit as seen above.

I'm 5'4" 115lbs and am a bit square shape (in the hip area) I ordered size 4 and they fit me great!
I found that the the waist part of the pant does NOT have any stretch... (which makes me keep my beer belly in check)

The pants broke in fairly quickly actually... I was pretty surprised because I've always known Carhartt's to take a long time to break in. The pant part itself (separate from the waist and buttoning area) have some stretch, which is great if you are moving around a lot and squatting. I took these pants climbing with me to really test how stretchy and how durable they really are.
These pants aren't meant for climbing haha. They have stretch to move around but not enough to get full range of motion. *keep in mind, they are a bit tight in the side to rear area around the hip* if you see the pictures above, they show an accurate depiction of what it looks like in that area. I do not find it to be uncomfortable, but rather I like it because it offers security without a belt.

I know some women look to Carhartt for durability, so let me reassure you. Even though these pants have some stretch, and break in quickly, they are by far the most durable pants I own and know of. Carhartt as a brand has a great reputation for being strong and durable and my pants have proven that reputation to hold true. The slim fit is an awesome pant because you can get something strong and reliable without looking frumpy and like the title suggests, it will do the job!

I've put my pants through HEAVY use outside, (Tetons, Wasatch, Southern UT) and they have NOT given in.
This was such a great investment for me and I highly recommend for any girl who needs that same durability, reliability and strength in a product.

    So Good - I Bought 2

Absolutely love these pants. Forget about the frumpy, unflattering look of a normal Carhartt, these are sexy, slim fit, badass pants that look amazing and still have the classic rugged durability you'd expect. I wear them everywhere! It's a fairly tight fit but the tapering and mid-hip fit allow for a lot of comfort and they don't inhibit movement in anyway. I get a lot of compliments on these pants and they're especially cute with a rugged boot, rolled up. Loved them so much, I had to buy a second pair!

Kalen, do you do heavy work in these pants? I'm looking for pants to wear in a spike trail crew, and this brand was suggested. But I'm worried size wise for some of their "regular" cut fit. I have a big difference in hips/waist; I'm positive the regular fit will mean the waist will be huge on me. The shape of this style looks like pants I already have. Just worried about exactly how tough they are. Will be working with equipment outdoors.
