Got these bad boys for my Brother and he loves them for wood working and projects in the yard. He says that they truly are bomber. He was tired of thorn bushes so easily poking through his pants and these seemed to do the trick!

It's hard not to love a man in a broken-in pair of Carhartt's. Especially when they're covered in dust, grease, dirt, or whatever else they got into that day, these Carhartt's represent a hard-working man. Buying Carhartt's for my boyfriend is probably my favorite thing to buy him. They look great, are professional-grade, and practically last forever.

Classic, Durable, Well-Executed
The most classic work pant. Dialed sizes, durable, time-proven. There are no alternatives to these for chopping wood, shoveling dirt, building cairns, or clearing brush.

choosing a size
Hello! I`d like to buy these pants in your shop, but i need some help with size. My normal waist is 32-33'', and my inseam is 33-34". I`m 176-178 cm tall, and I`m wearing (for example Canada Goose) S-size... What size could you recommend me?

You know what you're getting when you buy Carhartt: tough, durable, high quality, comfortable clothing. These pants are no exception and are my absolute go-to when doing any sort of work; or even car camping (given the weight and bulk, I wouldn't recommend them for backpacking). Fit true to size around the waist, slightly long in the leg (great for wearing with boots).

Wore these pants for about... 6 months straight. Excellent construction and unbelievably durable. I wasn't too kind for them , and the only rip I can see is from when I came up short hopping over a barbed wire fence. Fit is definitely baggy, but unless you shave your head except for a pony tale.. you won't care.

Thees are amazing pants. Have held up to major abuse in the barn. They did shrink a tiny bit after the first wash dry cycle, which was good because they were originally a little loose.

I gave these pants to my husband who works in metal fabrication. These pants, hands down, do better than any other brand out there. They last the longest and take the most brutal of wearings.

My favorite pants.
Carhartts are hard to beat. I wear them doing everything - from chores to adventures. Here I am in the North Central Cascades with my loyal dog wearing my double fronts. A few fit related thoughts. This photo is from a few summers back before my mid-section began blossoming? Anyways, 32x32 fit great. I was 5'10" and 165lbs. THESE PANTS SHRINK. I'd size up especially if you're on a margins of fit. Thighs in these are a bit baggy but if you ski all winter it's a nice treat to not have to go 3 waist sizes up for proper thigh fit.

This is the last pair of Carhartt double fronts that I will be buying. The durability cannot be matched by any other pant. However, I swear that Carhartt has changed the fit to accommodate for Americans getting fatter. I bought my standard 34x32, and these seem huge. The legs remain so wide all of the way down, which reminds me of Jnco Jeans from back in the day. My old pairs from 10+ years ago were a much more reasonable cut. I am not asking for skinny-jeans over here, but at least make options, Carhartt.

I dont know much about any of carhartt's other pants, these are the only ones i've ever owned. I wear them until they are ridden with holes. When they reach a certain point, my wife forces me to start wearing the newer pair she had gotten me months before as she secretly disposes of the holy pair. While my carhartt's always end up in shambles, it is definitely not because of a lack in quality. I beat the blank outta these pants, and they are a daily driver for me. everything from construction, to cutting wood, to hiking, to sitting on the couch. These are it. You need a tough pair of pants? These are it.

First off I have to say thank you Carhartt for making your clothing in the good ol USA. The quality shows! I recently gave these pants as a gift to my father for Christmas. These are the only pants he will work in and there is a reason why. Compared to other pants on the market these pants are far more durable and will outlast just about any pants from any manufacturer. Just look at people in labor intensive jobs and you will find that most of them will be wearing Carhartt clothing. There is a reason and that reason is the clothing that Carhartt makes is nearly indestructible. If you are in the market for a pair of pants that will last you years then look no further. No one makes pants pants near this quality and certainly no one makes a pant this good for the price of these pants.

I can't explain how much I love these pants. Strong, durable, one tough motha. I have a similar pairs made by Dickies minus the double front knee material, but these are constructed much better. The break in is not that bad, its a little stiff, but should soften up with some good use. Also, if you want them already worn in, get the Duck variety (same pants, soft and ready to go). I wear these from work, construction, hiking, and general chilling. They won't disappoint. Side note: they do run a bit baggy, but i do like that.

Tractor grease, barbed wire, buckthorn, motor oil, blood and burs. You'll quickly forgive the break in period and realize that these pantalones are built for work and do just that.

Break in or buy washed duck version
The reviews below already state how awesome double front Carhartts are and I agree. Many of the reviews talk about the break-in period. I have purchased both regular and Washed Duck versions of this pant. The Washed Duck is the same pant that has been pre-washed at the factory in a large machine with rocks to soften them up and break them in. If you love this pant; but, hate the break-in period... buy the Washed Duck version. Unless the folks at Carhartt lied to me... the two pants start life the same way. One is shipped stiff and needs break in while the other is broken in for you.

No, but carhartt does make some insulated ones. They're not hard to find and really worth their price. http://www.carhartt.com/products/carhartt-men-pants/Sandstone-Waist-Overall-Quilt-Lined-B194

I own multiple pairs of these bad boys. They are awesome for working in, or just wearing around when you want some burley pants on. They have a pretty good range of motion, decently wide leg opening. They are pretty stiff when you first get them, but after a few months of wearing them they soften up really nice and get much more comfortable. They absorb water pretty readily though... so I would be very hesitant to use them while skiing. I always prefer something that is at least close to waterproof on the bottom while skiing, also you would probably get some updraft in the leg openings as there isn't an easy to tighten that down. I'd look for something with a built in Gaiter or at least a velcro or snap tab adjuster.

it would be similar to skiing in a pair of jeans as far as performance. 100% cotton and not water resistant etc...

OK men need some help here, tried to be sly and figure out what size to get my boyfriend. He has 34s and 36s..when I casually asked him about pant saizes to figure out what fit better, I get "a 35 would be ideal".... So do I get the darn 34 or the 36?

Jot, Blame Carhartt. Also, hemming a pant leg is not the toughest thing to do, and it's really cheap. If these are the pants you really, really want and you really, really want to support backcountry, consider trying it out. The following work and family safe link will give you a good starting point. Or google DIY hemming... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrA2yPrMlkw Happy trails!
