Supernova Snowboard

If you're the type of rider that demands a high performance snowboard for big jumps, cliff drops, and powerful carves across groomers, then you deserve to have the Capita Supernova in your quiver. This directional all-mountain snowboard handles its own in variable terrain and loves to venture out off the beaten path to push you to previously unattainable feats.

The new Alpine V3 profile begins its confidence-inspiring ride with a large camber section for unmatched pop and control, with a rockered nose for float and cruising over variable conditions when transitioning from chunder to the groomer. The FSC-Certified P2 Superlight Core is composed of poplar and paulownia wood for high impact resistance and a lively feel, while two carbon KEVLAR® rods run the length of the board for added power and pop. Holysheet Fiberglass is impregnated with a high performance, plant-based Magic Bean resin that offers a dynamic ride and consistent flex. To wrap up the package, a ultra-high density Quantum Drive sintered base is durable and keeps you cruising fast in any snow condition, from cold powder to warm slush.

I've put it through the wringer

Do you like to go fast? Do you like to turn on a dime at high speed? Do you enjoy both of these things and need a directional board that will still float over variable terrain? The Supernova is for you! This speed demon features positive camber deep into the tail to allow you to charge like a FREAK while staying stable, and some reverse camber in the nose to keep you on top of the soft stuff with ease. It is very lightweight and the Quantum Drive (the name just sounds fast right?!) base is lighting fast and durable. Pair this board with the Union Falcor and you have the ultimate banked slalom racing machine! I am 5'10, 155 lbs and the 156 is the perfect resort charging board in my quiver. As stated in other reviews: if you have a wide foot this board probably isn't for you.

I've put it through the wringer

The Super Nova is Capita's freeride board that lives in the shadows of the Kazu Pro and Black Snowboard of Death. The Super Nova shares the same camber story as it's big brother the Kazu, (positive camber from your front foot all the way back thru the tail, with reverse camber in the nose. With a softer flex pattern, narrower waist and a much more turnable sidecut, then the Kazu, the Super Nova is my free ride board of choice, weighing in at 150 lbs with a size 9 boot. These boards are narrower in the waist, so they aren't ideal for riders with big feet. If you like to go fast and carve, this board is for you.

Toned down Kazu

I've used it several times

This board reminds me a lot of the Kazu pro, but it has a few distinct differences which change the riding style. The two boards are geared towards the same rider, which is someone looking for a directional board to charge whatever is in front of them and excel at it. The differences are that the Supernova is a little more forgiving in flex, the graphics are obviously a bit mellower, and the big difference is the way it turns. The Supernova has a much quicker turn and likes to bounce from edge to edge where the Kazu likes long wide open turns at higher speeds. Essentially this board requires less speed and less energy to ride than the Kazu while maintaining its ability to slay.

Where is the size chart for my height and weight?
