What do you think about this product?

    Have questions about this product?

    Dear customer service people,
I`m planning on purchasing a warm parka. But I don`t like heavy and bulky ones. I`ve checked out a long list of big brands, from mainstream to high end. It seems that the lightest down I could find in a parka is 700 fill. (If I`m wrong, please get me right.) I have a Marmot Quasar. Its weight is amazing. I don`t understand why the manufacturers don`t put 800 or 900 fill down into parkas, which will definitely cut the weight. Technical difficulties? Or ultralight down does not work well for parkas? Do you know any parka using ultra light 800 or 900 fill down? Your recommendation would be appreciated.

    Hey -

Thanks for asking. A big reason that companies don't use 800-900 fill as often in parkas is due to the high quantity that would be required in a parka. This parka costs $974.95 and uses a 625 duck fill. If it used a 800-900fill power down, the cost would be considerably more since a high quality down would be used.

Some of the parkas by Parajumper use a fill up to 730.

    Hi William!

Glad to hear you're still getting out in spite of physical difficulties--hearing that makes me excited to get rid of my excuses and get out into the wilderness.

It sounds to me like the Polar Bears Int'l Exped parka will be perfect for you--it's one of the warmest jackets we sell, and it's also built out of a tough cotton/poly blend fabric.

This is the special edition of the same jacket that has been used for 20 years by the National Science Foundation at Antarctica's McMurdo Station research facility--if it's warm enough for them, it should be warm enough for you.

Not only that, but $25 of each purchase goes to Polar Bears International...so you can feel good about giving back to the outdoors that we all love so much.

Bottom line? This is an amazing jacket for what you've described.

I wanna know more about L size. Is it larger than 46 inches in chest?

I ask this question because i've heard that this product is larger than any other canada goose's products.

So I mean I want buy the product about 44~46inches (in chest), and I'm worried about L size is too loose for me to wear.

I wrote this little bit long because of my poor English skill.

    Thank you for reading~!

If you're looking for a jacket that is 46", you should purchase an XL. See the official sizing chart right here:

While the Exped Parka is a little bit looser fitting, a Large will still be too small for you. Hope this helps!
