    Expedition Down Parka

Whether your expedition involves trekking through mounting Arctic snowdrifts or braving blizzards in frigid northern cities, the Canada Goose Expedition Down Parka ensures warmth and weather protection in the harshest conditions you'll face. Tested in some of the most extreme environments on earth, this jacket is pakced with 625 fill down to keep you toasty when temperatures plummet and show no signs of letting up. Arctic Tech fabric is ultra-durable and resists wind and water, helping you shut out blasts of cold air and moderate snowfall. When you're out in extreme environments, you've got fur around the adjustable hood to disrupt frigid airflow and protect against frostbite, as well as a hide-away snow skirt to keep deep snow from sneaking into the body of your jacket.

    Have questions about this product?

I think I could wear this on Pluto

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: XXL
    • Height: 6'3"
    • Weight: 235lbs

This is the warmest jacket Ive ever worn. So far in Denver this winter we have not had a day cold enough to justify it and its also quite huge so its really for the coldest conditions and not an every day wear in a city like ours. On the other hand, its great for the coldest and windiest days up the mountains when other jackets are insufficient. Very well made, lots of pockets and the hood also works well to protect from severe cold/winds. I am 6'3, 235 lbs with v long arms and usually wear 3XL but 2XL was plenty big and if I didn't have freakishly long arms, an XL might have fit (and I haven't worn anything in XL since I was 12). So take seriously all the comments on ordering ~ 2 sizes down from what you are used to.

    Didn't receive my jacket

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 170lbs

There is a communication issue, the jacket I first ordered was too big because the sizes are different, and when I sent it to be returned and exchanged for the one I wanted, customer service did not note the interaction and so the jacket they said was available was then sold. So now I don't have the jacket, and just been through all this trouble for nothing. Wish there was clarity the first time I spoke to customer service as I had already technically purchased the jacket. It should of been held, as it was still available during that pre-Christmas time.

    What a coat!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 160lbs

I'm 5'7" 160lbs. My measurement was borderline M and L. I got the medium and it's perfect. Not too bulky by itself, but enough room to wear over my snowsuit on the really cold nights. I like taking trips to northern Alaska (prudhoe bay and coldfoot) I haven't been there with it yet, but have full confidence in it. I've been in 0°F with it with no problem. I can finally enjoy winter camping without shivering. Much much warmer than my snow suit. Looking forward to an iceland trip this winter!

    What a coat!

Love the coat, I have 2!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Size Bought: Xl and m
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 250lbs

I am 250 and 5’11. First I had the constible in a xl. I also have the expedition in a medium. Both fit the same. I live part time in Idaho and just wear a dress shirt under the coat and am toasty warm. I couldn’t be happier and may buy one more in camo for hunting.

Love the Jacket - Size Down

I normally wear an XL, 46” chest, 5’ 10”, 205. I contacted BC before ordering jacket, and the customer service contact said an XL was right, but when I received the jacket, it was way too big. I ended up returning it to BC as a result, and bought a size down locally. If you order the Expedition online, definitely size down when you order, or you will end up returning it. This is the most hardcore parka I’ve owned. Makes North Face, OR, all feel like child’s play in comparison, and I own many of those jackets.

Disappointed in quality for the price.

      • Size Bought: Large

I bought the Expedition Parka on 12/5/2018. I have continued to wear it because it is my only coat. It is the worst mistake I have ever made in purchasing a coat. Every time I wear it, it leaves me covered in hair from the collar and feathers all over my clothing as well as anywhere I sit or go. I am trying to now find a coat to replace it. Given the price of $1050, I would have thought the product was better.

I'm so sorry to hear. I wear one of the other parkas everyday (everyday Winter Months) and have no problems with it. Everyday it reminds me how I used to freeze and now usually just wear a dress shirt under it. At -3 degrees I could stay in it. Continuous zero and not just 5 minutes, but an hour or more. I was once in it for 5 hours at around zero. My face, hands and feet were another issue, but body was warm and toasty. I want to get CG gloves next Winter.
Check and see if yours is authentic. CG Parkas are among the best made in the world. CG can authenticate the coat.

      disgusting order

I ordered this clothes in small size, and it is the last one.

Today I received it, the tag on the clothes is "Small", but the clothes itself is "Medium"!!!!!!!!!!!!

        Is this a fake?

I'm trying to reoder it but it is already sold out. I talked with the agent but she can only give me refund. I have nothing to say.

        disgusting order

Beware of the size! Happy with it.

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: Runs large
        • Size Bought: Extra small
        • Height: 5'11"
        • Weight: 150lbs

Let me just start out by saying I have a few of these coats,
A chiliwack bomber, this red expedition, and a snow mantra.
I bought the chiliwack first, in medium, huge mistake- it was too large for me (5’11-150lbs) you MUST buy at least two sizes down on pretty much any of these goose’s that are considered “parkas” (other than some specific ones that are slimmer cuts) anyways, I wear a small in the chiliwack (my choice because I wanted a larger one than my size) but I wear an Extra small in the expedition which is drastically warmer than the chiliwack. In the snow mantra a XS and feels like a much larger fit than the expedition.
The expedition is going to weigh about 4-5 pounds on you ha, but that down filling barely breaks a sweat when you are out doing something. I find the breathability of this coat amazing given the fact you can take it down to -40 before you start feeling chilly.
Overall, it’s a fantastic coat, Ive found that the coyote trim on the hood of the expedition’s are smaller than the snow mantra and resolute so beware of that if you like that sort of thing. Last thing is with backcountry itself, very good service so far! Quick with orders and send a new authentic product from Canada goose.

        Expedition Parka

        • Size Bought: Large
        • Height: 6'0"
        • Weight: 175lbs

Hi guys, quick question? I am 5’11/6’0 feet tall and around 175/180 pounds. I ordered a large black expedition parka and I plan on always wearing a t shirt or sweater, a hoodie, and then the coat on top. Should I be fine with sizing?

        Terrible jacket for the price

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Doesn't hold up. You can get something much better for cheaper.

        shoulda.. coulda.. woulda

        • Fit: Runs large
        • Size Bought: xl
        • Height: 5'10"
        • Weight: 205lbs

I shoulda read the reviews first.
Then, i coulda made a better informed decision about the size.
I woulda definitely got a different coat.
The parka is really well made. It also provides exceptional warmth. I'm in upstate NY and it gets plenty cold w/ humidity..cold goes right to the this was perfect..or so i thought. I didn't realize the zipper zips up the left side and was really difficult to even get the zipper into the slot to zip. I took some time and i failed miserably. That, for me, is a deal breaker. If i couldn't do it standing in my home then how would i manage it out in the freezer w/ gloves on. Also there is the size thing. I got an XL. I'm 5' 10 205 and it is just too big and bulky. (feel like i'm wrapped in a down blanket) which you would think would be great but it isn't. I'll give 4 stars for workmanship, warmth, nice features (pocket size, angle & depth) and comfort. All in all a great piece. Just do your do diligence when it comes to size and realize that Canadians zipper from the left side...kinda like a women's coat does. heh heh.. No offense, i love me some Canucks

Great Parka, do your homework on sizes

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: Runs large

Great parka, very warm. I had to order three before getting the size that fit me best. Not Backcountry's fault, my own for not researching more throughly at first. I finally settled on two sizes smaller than I typically wear in coats.
This coat is very warm, and a bit bulky. Lot of questions about it everywhere I go. I can wear a t-shirt or button down under it and be warm in 0-15 below. Have worn on winter photography and dog sledding trips with no issues. Only complaint is that the cuffs are pilling and I do not not wear this coat often by any means... Backcountry is great. Excellent customer service from Brittni.

Great Parka, do your homework on sizes

This coat IS NOT true to size AT ALL

To start...I am a 43 year old avid winter sports enthusiast. I have snowboards in the double digits, snow pants by the boatload and so many jackets at both home and in storage I thought shopping for this coat would be a breeze. The reviews I read for sizing scared the hell out of me. I was on my way to Alaska and while I’ll generally wear a large or x-large (if I’m layering for extreme weather) Arcteryx jacket to snowboard.. I am so glad I read enough reviews regarding this parka to make a spot on educated “guess”. I AM A “SMALL” IN THIS COAT. I am a 5’8”, 180 lb., athletic build, broad shouldered guy with room to layer in this thing!....A small is a perfect fit. I even imagine the XS would fit fine it I didn’t like the option to layer
