What do you think about this product?

    Have questions about this product?

I am very conflicted about this coat.

Oh, Canada Goose coat, it's not you, it's me. Or maybe it is you, actually. I bought this coat with such high hopes. It is SO cute, I love the cut, and nothing beats CG for warmth. To be clear, that is all true with this coat as well. I have it in an army green color (I was so tempted by the red, but it was more $ at the time). This is hands down the best jacket I own. It fits true to size, except I feel the arms are ALMOST too short. Like, they are straddling the line between too short and just right, and they cross it sometimes. As others have noted, the pockets are cute but placed oddly, so not super functional or comfortable. The hood is super adjustable, which is a nice touch, and the coyote fur is so much warmer than faux fur. This is not flattering on me, I look like the pills bury dough boy. Which is to be expected in any puffer, but it is even pudgier in real life than the photos show. Again, WARM WARM WARM. But I probably would go with a different style if I had a do-over.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: large
      • Height: 5'3"
      • Weight: 135lbs

I purchased this last week and wore it to the lake yesterday-sun was out, but cold and windy on the ice. I was cozy warm! The hand warmer pockets could be a bit deeper, but work fine-placement is good. I have many jackets, and this one will be one of my favorites. I bought a large, as I read others saying to size up. It was a good choice, but I like things on the loose side.

The finest winter jacket I have owned.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: XL
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 206lbs

I purchased this jacket in 2010 off season (it's a little less $$) in a men's XL size. I reserve the jacket for the coldest weather only. Typically I define that as any temperature below 20 degrees F. This is an extremely warm jacket. The hood alone is almost worth the price. I walk my dog often in the bitter cold Kansas / Wisconsin winters where wind chills are often well below zero. When my face gets cold enough I pull up the hood which envelops your head better than any jacket hood ever. The hood can be cinched down to a small opening totally blocking the wind on the side of your face.

In 2012 I purchase one for my wife Karen, she like me only gets it out when temperatures are the coldest and she loves the jacket.

The materials making up the jacket are excellent quality.

This is a jacket for a lifetime of use.

      Stylish but not necessarily functional

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Small
      • Height: 5'8"
      • Weight: 130lbs

Warm, awesome hood, nice cut. I don't like that to use the pockets, you have to put your hands through the top as opposed to from the side.

      style over practicality

      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: medium
      • Height: 5'5"
      • Weight: 130lbs

This bomber is cuter than most parkas and MUCH warmer than any other short coat I have. It’s stylish but when it comes down to it, this is great for errands or walking short distances but not practical for city living or extended periods of time outside. The hand pockets are located on the front of the coat, like literally on the front under the chest area. It’s kind of ridiculous to walk around with your hands there, but oh well. Nonetheless, I still like this cutie but I don’t love it. For reference, I’m 5’5, 130lbs, 36D and I took a Medium. This style runs small, especially across the chest and back so if you’re busty, I’d suggest sizing up.

      Best Winter Jacket Hands Down

I purchased this last year to battle some crazy New York winter / storms (I mostly work outside) and it saved me from freezing. It's my first time purchasing Canada Goose and even though it was highly recommended to me by my friends - it felt like a great investment to me despite it's priciness. I love that they have lifetime warranty so there goes me every buying a winter jacket in the future. I barely have to layer clothing when I wear this!

      Form over Function

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 5'8"
      • Weight: 160lbs

This looks cooler than some other winter coats but is also less practical. It is extremely warm and suitable for harsh conditions (windchills into the negatives etc), actually too felt too warm when it got into the upper thirties.

I know it is supposed to be a bomber style but I wished that it was longer, even so. The "hand pockets" are in a hilarious location (right over the chest). I can't imagine anyone walking around or even standing with their hands actually inside of these pockets (with a straight face anyhow).

The fur is luxurious but I found myself fretting over whether it would be damaged by the wear and tear of being thrown around during everyday life. I tried zipping the hood all the way up once, partly because I was clowning around, and the zipper got stuck there! I was eventually able to unzip it but I'm deducting a few more points for that because it's really an inconvenient situation to be stuck inside your coat with the hood all the way up. Especially considering the price point, every part of this jacket should be awesome quality.

Last note: according to the size chart provided, I should technically be a medium. There is no way that would have fit me, it would definitely have been too small! Recommend sizing up, especially if you want room for bulky winter layers underneath.

      Great Product

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

This is a great everyday jacket. Although I wish the fur trim on the hood is removable! I'm 5'1, 105 lbs. The XS fits me just nice with some room for another layer, although I don't think I'll ever need it even for Michigan weather. I also have the Canada Goose Mystique Parka XS size for outdoor use during winter, like the removability and the wire enhancement on the fur trim of the hood! Too bad this jacket doesn't offer such options.

      Great down Jacket!!

      • Fit: True to size

This is a great down jacket!!! I am 5'4 and 125 pounds, and XS fits so good! The custom service is amazing!! I ordered this jacket on thursday morning but because I offered a wrong billing address, they shipped this item late in the night after I made a call to custom service. Surprisingly, I got this jacket on friday afternoon because they chose to use next day air service!!!! Thank you guys, and I will recommend this website to my friends.

      Warm with mobility!

I have the Canada Goose Women's Chilliwack Bomber. I finally decided to invest in a warm winter coat here in the U.S. midwest. I usually stay away from down winter coats because they impede my motion, including driving and just generally moving around. This Bomber is super warm. I love the coyote fur hood. It's so cavernous and toasty. It stays on, it's adjustable, and it keeps the wind out. The sleeves keep snow out and away from your bare arms when you're clearing it from your car. For me, the sleeves are a great length. I'm 5'5", medium athletic frame, and I ordered a medium. It's a little short, so when I get out of the car, I'm often pulling it down, but it's not that big of a deal because I like the mobility it affords me. The number of pockets is spectacular! And it's super light. I wouldn't hesitate to wear this with just a t-shirt on underneath for short trips outside.

        It Keeps Her Warm

I bought the jacket for my wife. Inially, she did not like the it - believing it to be: too boxy; too unsustainable with its use of real fur; and too fattening (she believed that it makes he look fat). However, it happened to be a very cold day when I presented the jacket to her as a birthday present. So she agreed to try it on outside in the cold (very reluctantly) and has worn every day since then because it keeps her warm and is really practical for everyday use with its many useful pockets. Since then several people have commented favourably on the style, quality and colour of the jacket. I believe that my wife is 'still in denial' when it comes to this item. While she now claims that the jacket is OK. Meanwhile, I really believe that she looks great in it and seems a lot warmer compared with her other dodgy coats and now that she understands that the fur is allegedly from a sustainable source she seems much more relaxed about the fur trim. (Mind you, she seems pretty pleased with the fur trim the other day when it was bitterly cold and very windy). She wanted to give this jacket three star - presumably to save face but I've given it four stars because it looks the business and makes her look the business too.

I am 5'6", 130 lbs and an athletic build, I bought the Medium and it fit perfectly. I wore it around Colorado this winter with only gloves and a shirt underneath, and I was extremely warm. All around the best jacket I have bought probably ever, I have found my loyalty line!

            Amazing Customer Service!

I live in Toronto Canada and after spending days and days going store to store, and calling ALL over the country, I came across backcountry through Luckily, they had one blue topaz in size small left, however I came across the problem of not being able to get it shipping to Canada. I spoke with one of their employee's who was more than helpful and followed up with me by calling me back as I did need to figure a way to get it to Canada. They were also able to put the jacket on hold for around a week while I sorted out the shipping details. Luckily, I found a UPS store that accepts packages just over the boarder from Niagara Falls, and drove to pick up the jacket.

It is very hard to find company's that will go out of their way to make a customer happy, however backcountry did just that! They have amazing customer service!

              Sizing on the Smaller Side

Beautiful jacket - I wish I could have exchanged it for a larger size though (they were out of the color I liked). However, I found it to fit a bit smaller. I'm 5'6" and 135 lbs - I ordered a medium and felt as if the sleeves were too short and it rode up my back with the slightest provocation of bending over. I did notice a stronger smell with the down - but that would not have discouraged me from keeping the jacket if it fit right. I would buy it again in-a-second, if I could only find the right size.

Canada Goose Chilliwack Parka is exactly what I wanted

Now that I have this jacket I want to bump every other product I've rated 5 stars back down to 4. The jacket is warm, stylish and not as bulky as it looks in the picture. When one of my friends who worked in Antarctica for a while saw it, he yelled, "Great jacket! That's what we wore at McMurdo Station! Does it have the inner nalgene bottle pocket?"

Yup. It has the inner pocket to keep your water from freezing. It has 2 small pockets on the upper left sleeve for pens. It has a small zipped pocket next to them for your pad of paper.

The lower pockets have velcro to keep them shut and the upper pockets are lined with soft, warm fabric. The zipper is heavy duty with large teeth and the buttons are fastened with strips of fabric -- not thread. The hood comes with a drawstring to snug it down tight against the wind. The jacket is very well- made and looks like it will last for years.

I have never been warm enough in my winter gear until now. This jacket is exactly what I needed.

                  Warm and Stylish

Great jacket: warm, great fit and stylish. I have the white one, and receive compliments on it every time I wear it. I live in the Boston area, so it's perfect for keeping me warm, while also having that special flair and versatility: it's great for urban settings and for a hike in the country. The best thing about it is that it's not too bulky. It's warm and cozy, but I don't look or feel like a marshmallow in it. I highly recommend this jacket!
