    Chateau Down Parka

Evocative of A-frame houses, leather couches, and expansive snow-capped peaks, the Canada Goose Men's Chateau Down Parka withstands the icy-cold conditions of winter without compromising your sense of style. Much like its name suggests, the Chateau houses Arctic-worthy warmth with its 625-fill down insulation and falls about mid-thigh for extended coverage. The hardy polyester exterior is treated with a water-repellent finish to prevent falling snow from jeopardizing the quality and performance of the down insulation.

An adjustable hood provides added protection from squalls and snow, and dual hand pockets are lined with fleece for extra warmth. A heavy duty, two-way locking zipper provides versatile closure and quick heat release while you commute on crowded subway cars. The recessed, rib-knit cuffs seal out chilly drafts to keep you warm when everything else freezes over, so you can hang on to classic style and warmth whether you're trekking through Boston in a wicked Nor'easter or meandering through the French Alps.

    • Get Arctic-ready warmth and city-friendly style with this down parka
    • Down insulation keeps you toasty when winter shows its force
    • Durable outer fabric sheds off snow during blustery commutes
    • Adjustable hood shuts out cold temperatures and colder winds
    • Two-way locking zipper lets you vent easily on stuffy buses
    • Ribbed cuffs keep cold out and warmth in for a cozy wear
    • Internal and external pockets let you easily access your valuables
    • Item #CDG009E

    Boyfriends favorite coat

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Size Bought: medium
    • Height: 6'2"

Bought this as a christmas gift for my boyfriend since he flies to the east coast often. We're from CA, so this jacket is way too warm for sunny Cali weather. This jacket kept him warm during his trips to NYC and Boston when the weather was 15 degrees at night. Definitely worth the hefty price tag. Ohhh and it looked great on him :)

    The best investment

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 175lbs

This coat does everything it says it does. I know I will never have to buy a winter coat again. It is stylish, comfortable and the warmth is unprecedented. I highly recommend investing in this coat.

    really over priced

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: xl
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 210lbs

after paying close a $1000 for a jacket I would expect some high quality material and a better fit this is not worth the money. I was better of with a north face. I feel the cold in the shoulders the material attracts dust. the black is not actually black it space grey. I would like a refund but I have no other option at the moment

    Outdated materials

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

Bizarre reading about the quality of materials — simple nylon blend fabric that’s not water poof , unsourced down and leftover coyote bits to guarantee the heaviest bulkiest coat possible that will get wet and smell when wet and lose all insulating ability. It is warm when dry but anything with this amount of down would be warm. It’s very hard to clean and the fabric looks worn once you do. Competitors use high tech fabrics and sourced down to make things just as warm but which are much lighter, less bulky, better performing ( wind and water proof while . Breatheable ) and actually made in an environmentally responsible way. Canada gooose charges a premium for materials Patagonia columbia and TNF would reject. I regret buying it. This jacket is primarily a fashion statement , but probably one you don’t want to make if you love the outdoors or even just want a jacket that could survive an unexpected bit of rain or having to clean.

    coyote fur?

The trapping method Canada Goose uses to kill its coyotes is illegal in every single developed nation except Canada. There is no reason for them to be using coyote fur for urban winter wear (these parkas are meant for ARTIC EXPLORATION, not to get you from starbucks to your apartment building)...Backcountry should really consider taking a moral stand against products like this and choose not to sell them on this site, as the moral values of Canada Goose do not seem to align with those of Backcountry.com or its customers

      Military Green Parka

      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 6'1"
      • Weight: 200lbs

I finally pulled the trigger and bought this jacket. I've had my eye on this jacket for almost 2 years. The jacket looks and feels great. Awesome fit and finish and definitely warm. I bought the military green color since so many people have the black one and I've received lots of compliments. Only reason i didn't rate it a 5 is b/c of the price. These jackets used to cost $700 couple years ago and i dont see why they jumped in price.

      Long Overdue

      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 180lbs

I've looked at Canada Goose Parka's for years and even went as far as to put it in my cart but couldn't ever justify the cost. Well this year was different. Wow, that an amazing coat. You know how you buy certain things knowing that you are paying mostly for the name? Well Canada Goose is different. I was blown away by the quality of everything from the materials to the way the coat is constructed. Little things like the fact that buttons are sewn to straps making them easier to button/unbutton to the stitching of the back label. Its on there secure enough that I could probably use it to suspend myself off the ground. Yes, its an expensive coat but the first few hours wearing confirms my decision. Thanks Backcountry!

Great quality parka & super warm

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

You cant miss the quality of this parka the first time you see this parka in person and put it on. Made to last a life time and look good while wearing it. It is very expensive but well worth ever penny of the price and if you shop around for a deal you can find certified canada goose retailers having sales for around $600.

Great quality parka & super warm

      Canada Goose Chateau Parka

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The best coat I have ever owned by a long shot. I ordered a large size (I am a size 40 in a sport coat) thinking that it would accommodate layering, which it does, but so far layering seems to be unnecessary. The coat is very warm and very well constructed.

In an ideal world I might want an additional inside pocket but this may just be Canada Goose's way of telling me that I looked odd with so much stuff in my pockets. The length is great for walking or driving and I'm looking forward to a real Minnesota winter because up here people get competitive about things like coats. My recommendation: buy it. It's worth the price and Backcountry couldn't make the experience any easier.
