On a chilly day, wind-proofing the front of a jacket can make a multi-tempo ride pleasantly toasty; nothing coming through the front, but generous venting in back balancing your central furnace output rather nicely. TXN is an abbreviation for Textran, a waterproof/windproof/breathable fabric. The Thermo version is Textran on the outside with a lofted, waffle patterned insulation on the inside. In addition to maintaining warmth, it acts to wick sweat vapor from your base layer and transfer it to the outside of the garment, where it dries quickly.

The Thermo Textran material is paneled in the front and on the sleeves. On the back, this jacket has Silver Aid, an insulating, breathable, wicking fabric that has silver threads mixed in for better moisture transfer and improved bacteria-fighting so that the top won't smell like you've been riding in it all day when you've been using it for weeks.

Campagnolo Sportswear works pretty hard so that all the little things in their pieces complement the big things. For instance, there's a draft flap of nubuck leather behind the zipper that extends the length of the top and goes over the collar to form a zipper garage. It's soft and natural against your skin, feels wonderful, and it's designed to hold up to repeated washings. The wrist cuffs are made of soft, stretchy microfiber to create a comfortable, tight seal. The collar is Thermo Textran for the exterior and lined with brushed fabric for a similarly snug, comfy fit. To help offset the dark color, there are large Campagnolo IQseen logos on the sleeves, the chest, and the collar. They might not look terribly reflective on your computer screen, but IQseen has been proven to reflect light from sources up to 160 meters away. The pocket scheme with this jacket is Campagnolo's traditional two-in-two pocket design -- two large back pockets with two small zip pockets built into the outside. The waist has a silicone gripper on the inside for a light but firm hold on your middle.

Campagnolo Sportswear is partial to designing tops to fit with what they consider a traditional racer cut, which is to say that it is sleek, narrow, stretchy, and designed to fit while riding.
