Sticky gates
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I initially really enjoyed having these carabiners. After a couple years of use the gates are starting to become sticky, which is a potential safety issue. Still a decent value, but my other (more expensive) carabiners do not have this issue.

Best all around Trad biner for the buck.
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Full size with a huge gate opening and just over an ounce per biner. Great handling and easy clipping with a nice firm gate action. They come in a key lock version too for those that struggle with unclipping. What's not to like?

Great biner for ice climbing draws
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I generally use Black Diamond wiregates on my ice climbing runners, but a friend encouraged me to look at these. I picked up a handful for a recent ice climbing trip, and love them. Great carabiners - light, lots of room for clipping, really good gate action. Well done, Camp.

Go To's

These carabiners are awesome! They are lightweight and inexpensive. Great for a nonlocking biner. I use them for alpine draws because of the weight and ease in clipping. It's also nice to have the brighter colors because they are easy to spot!

I really like this biner
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
These biners are lightweight, ergonomic. and relatively inexpensive. Ive started to use these on my alpine draws and for racking my protection, as apposed to the BD Neutrinos ive used in the pass. I just like them more!

Light and right
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
These are sweet. I got them to build some alpine draws when I was learning how to trad climb and building my rack. They have been awesome--super lightweight, fit in my giant hands perfectly, and are just great. I don't like combining them with the nanos, as I know others do. I just use two for my alpines. In the future, I might upgrade to DMM alpha trads, just to eliminate the nose hook thingy that catches and annoys me to no end, but for now these are great and were much more affordable!

My non-locker for longer slings
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This is my non-locking carabiner of choice to carry anchor building materials, rappel gear, or whatever else you require. I prefer the Camp nano 22's for my alpine draws, but I know of some folks that will one use one photon and one nano per draw. Find what you prefer and go for it. The photons are large, light and have a very smooth clipping action. An overall fantastic 'biner.

Favorite alpine wire biner
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Love the light weight & cost of these little carabiners. Everything I want in a simple wire gate biner, and at a much more affordable cost than the other big names.

CAMP's Killing It
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
CAMP updated this carabiner and its sweet. I've got the previous Photon model and now the current Photon model. Racking: I use these to rack some of my cams, right now I think I have them on my Master cams. Weight: These are pretty light for how big they are. Which is awesome that they aren't heavier. Alpine Draws: I use these on the rope end of my alpine draws since they're super easy to clip. Ice Climbing/Alpine: I like these because of how easy they are to use with a gloved hand. Paired with the CAMP Nano22 carabiner, these two are the perfect combo that I don't see many other companies keeping up with.

Light, Cheap, Safe. I keep a good stash of these everywhere, for everything from alpine draws to clipping my nalgene to my pack.

Great Shape and Very Light
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
The Camp Photon is an excellent lightweight carabiner that is still big enough for easy clipping. I use them as the color coded carabiner on all of my cams as well as the carabiners on my alpine draws. When you're carrying a rack into the alpine the weight adds up quick and these really help to slim things down.

Classic Photon, Upgraded design - LIGHT
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
As soon as I realized how much better it is to have biners that are not only light, but also coordinate with my cam colors, I always make sure to keep a few of these on hand. Big enough to be easy to clip and use, but light enough to make them the perfect replacement for my older D shaped biners.
