    Built for the big adventures.

You know you're bound for a big adventure when you're packing skis, axes, helmet, and rope in Camp USA's M5 Backpack. This pack boasts plenty of space for a full day of backcountry skiing, alpine climbing, and mountaineering in faraway places. Camp USA built the M5 out of Robic 100 mini ripstop with a waterproof coating to balance between rugged durability and superior lightness. The M5 features multiple carry systems for skis, axes, helmets, ropes, hydration reservoirs, avalanche equipment, and more. Two access points and a top lid allow for easy packing, and a back access point makes for easy unpacking, even when you have skis strapped to the pack. The back panel, shoulder straps, and waist belt have mesh pads for a comfy, well-ventilated ride, and the steel wire frame ensures the stability you need when you're covering miles of country during the approach.

    A Beast of a Pack

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Definitely one of the better packs on the market. It's not the lightest 50 liter pack available but there becomes a point where adding a little pack weight in favor of carrying a heavier load and being comfortable is more important.

    Adjustments:
Plenty of easy adjustments at the waist belt on the sides and which is great for the taller guys with smaller waists.

Back Door / Rear Panel Entry:
this is one of the features I like a ton on the pack. It lets me position a few items like layers that I know I'll need later in the day along the middle of my back. This way I can unzip the panel and access them. I like it since i don't need to undo the brain, open up the main compartment and then dig through and mess which the organization in my pack.

Over all this is a really great pack that I'd highly recommend.

Let me know if you've got any questions!

Odd comment, considering this pack is stunningly light. I ordered one to check out at home (haven't decided whether I'm keeping it or not yet) and it weighs on my scale at just over 2 lbs. This is about as light a pack this size with any sort of frame and features can possibly be. That said, it is not the sturdiest fabric; an obvious trade-off for the weight.

The biggest "gotcha" I might point out is the size of the ski carrying webbing on the sides. They are not particularly large. I fit an Armada Kufo through, but it was snug getting the tail past. For those who enjoy overkill-width skis, I wouldn't expect them to fit on the side of this pack.

My overall impression though is this pack has a lot of potential if it fits your uses considering the very light weight for a pack with so many features.
