    Surprisingly dope.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Was worried it would be too heavy and bulky compared to my last harness to travel with. It is not. Packs down fine and I don't notice it is there till i pull it out to climb.
Gear loops are easy to use and the thing is adjustable enough for my needs.
This thing is crazy comfy and I am surprised by how much I like it. Material seems very durable so I am sure to be climbing in this for years to come.
Favorite harness in a while. I keep buying camp recently and keep being pleasantly surprised. Well done.

    Surprisingly Comfy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was skeptical of this harness's comfort level, given how light it feels, but it is actually super comfy! I coach little kids, so I belay for long periods of time, and this harness feels great even after that. The gear loops are also easy to use and I like the colors. -1 star just because the inside is black, and if you leave it sitting in the sun it will heat up a bit. I do wish it had another elastic place to retain the strap that tightens the waist, but I found that I could loop it into a half knot and it stays out of my way pretty well. I also plan to open the harness up and add a rubber band back there so I'll update on how that goes.

    Great starter

Bought these as a gift since I didnt know how committed this person would be to climbing. Theyve stuck to it and really enjoy this harness. Theyve only used it in gyms but say its been comfortable

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This harness is extremely rad if you can't tell from the pictures, and an incredible deal especially on sale. Bought this as a gym harness, and already took it on a trip because it's so light and packable. 4 stars for comfort. 6 stars for radness.

      Light, inexpensive, do-it-all harness

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm very particular about my gear and expect a lot out of it, and this harness is excellent on long, multi-pitch trad routes, sport routes or laps in the gym. I could not be happier.

First off, it's very light. It's hardly noticeable while wearing it climbing. It also folds up very small, whether your packing into a crag bag or squeezing it into a carry on at the airport. However, you don't lose any comfort with weight. Even hiking in and climbing with a full trad rack, it feels great. I have not done a full hanging belay in it, but I've spent a fair amount of time rappelling and leaning off it at belays without ever feeling uncomfortable. The thin waste belt also fits easily and comfortably underneath the hip belt on a pack.

The gear loops are big and positioned forward so that you can reach gear/draws off the back loops while trying to place gear or clip. Other harnesses I've tried, especially Petzl, seem to have the aft gear loops too far aft, making them fairly useless for gear/draws you'll need on the route. The plastic covering allows biners to easy move on and off, however, they're not quite as rigid as those on my BD Momentum. So far, that hasn't been any issue and I don't think it will be.

If you happen to get stuck in a massive storm while rappelling, it also dries out very quickly.

Cons: So far, my only complaint is that there's only one small elastic strap on the right side to hold the excess waste belt after you tighten it, leaving about 6-7 inches you have to deal with. Also, the silver coating on the metal buckles has started to come off, though I don't think it'll effect it's utility or longevity.

And no, I'm not a salemans, just a very satisfied customer.

      Hi John,

Thank you so much for such a thorough review! I was wondering if you would be willing to share your weight? how many trad pitches you do in a day (on average) in this harness when you're out on multipitch trad, and what your longest day in this harness has looked like and how the harness has worn all day?

Thanks so much for any info you can provide!

      Awesome Sport Harness

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have been climbing in this harness for about 3 weeks now and love it. It is one of the most comfortable harnesses I have been in. For the price point I can't think of a better harness on the market.

The gear loops are well positioned and easy to get quickdraws on and off. The wider profile of the harness makes it extremely comfortable, even on hanging belays. As with all CAMP USA gear it is super light and packs up very small.

If you are interested in picking up a new harness or looking to get into climbing this is a pro level harness at an entry level price.

Thought I would leave an update after a summer of climbing with this harness. I have quite a few days of trad, alpine, and sport using this harness and I still love it just as much. Even with a full rack it still climbs and fits well. I have some other harnesses but they stayed in the closet all summer and this came with me for every climb. Durability wise everything is still holding up great, no visible wear and tear so far. I am extremely satisfied.

      Sizing Chart

I could use some sizing help. I am picking this up as a harness for my husband and son who both climb with me on occasion. My son is 6'3", 180 and has a 33 inch waist. My husband is 5'11, 185 and a 35 inch waist. I was thinking a L would work for both of them (which would be nice), but wasn't sure if the sizing was for over clothes or ??? Thanks.

      Just about perfect

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great construction, lightweight, comfy, and good features.

Nice gear loops - plastic covered, good spacing. Like the haul loop as well for tagging a line. Leg loops have worked well but as mentioned you can't completely unthread them. That's not much of an issue for the average day out on the rock, though. The weight is great and hasn't affected comfort - taking whips is just fine although I haven't tested it at a hanging belay yet.

The only nitpick I have is dealing with the tail of the waist belt strap. There's a small loop of elastic on the right hand side of the waist belt but it's not positioned far enough back. It's situated over the first gear loop so the tail hangs there and gets in the way of your gear on that loop. It would be easy and light to simply add another little elastic band a little farther back on the waist belt to keep the tail out of the way completely. And for reference the harness fits me perfectly so it's not like there's a huge excess of tail because of improper sizing. The best fix I've found is essentially running the strap through the elastic band and then wrapping the tail around itself a couple times back in the direction of the tie in points. It's slick, not bulky, and keeps everything out of the way. I only really need to do that when racking up with gear, though, as it doesn't matter much if I'm just at the gym.

Overall super happy with the harness and looking to put a ton of vertical miles on it.

So can the leg loops be undone? Or is that simply to adjust circumference for comfort?

Nope, they cannot be undone. To save weight and stand behind Camp USA's light is right motto they chose to keep that feature off and the lbs down on this one. They can be adjusted for circumference and comfort though. If you want removable loops
