Blade Runner Alpine Crampon

The Blade Runner Alpine Crampon is Camp USA's most versatile and technical ice crampon on the market for ice, mixed, and alpine climbs. It has an innovative heel slide that integrates the linking bar with the heel piece for better torsional rigidity, and it combines the power and stability of vertical frames with the precision and easy adjustment of horizontal frames. Made with Sandvik Nanoflex steel, the heel slide is incredibly strong for how thin it is, and it provides the right amount of flexibility throughout the crampon. Cassin made the front platform out of Cromoly steel to absorb impacts and maintain solid rigidity under your foot, and it reduces the flexibility and play that makes you feel insecure on technical terrain.

Good Crampons, Terrible Product Support

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

First off, I'll say that these are decent crampons. I've put them through the ringer with about 70 pitches of ice the last two years and they performed better than other companies I've used. That being said, once you wear through the "replaceable" front points, you will not be able to find replacements. I've been looking for over a year to get replacement front points and even reached out to Camp directly but I've received radio silence. They are out of stock everywhere and have been for a long time. Front points are a consumable component of any crampon and pose a safety hazard if warn too short or corroded. These are the most expensive crampons out there and the fact that Camp does not support basic replacement parts is appalling. The crampons are still being sold and stocked so I don't buy that his is a supply chain issue. Save your money and support a company that supports it's products.
