Dirt Series Podium Water Bottle

Designed especially for the off-road crowd, the Dirt Series Podium 21oz Bottle from CamelBak aims to quench your thirst without any weird tastes from inside your bottle or on the valve. CamelBak uses a BPA-free TruTaste material and won't taint the flavor of your drink and the HydroGuard anti-odor coating keeps sports drinks from funking up the inside of the bottle.

A self-sealing Jet Valve prevents spills and splatters and a gentle squeeze of the bottle delivers a high-flow of your beverage. At the base of the valve, a positive lockout lets you turn the valve 90 degrees so no liquid inadvertently spills in your race bag or car. What makes this particular bottle dirt worthy is the integrated mud cap that seals out the elements preventing any contamination of the drinking surface. So if you have a full-suspension frame that forces you to carry a bottle on the underside of your downtube and you ride on trails that are equine friendly, you can thank us later.

Undersized

Bought one based on 20 Oz. claim. It barely holds 18 Oz. Haven't used it yet. Hopefully the valve lives up to claims. Not worth the effort to return.

Loose fit in bike water bottle cage

This new model of this bike bottle does not have the diameter required to fit securely in an universal water bottle cage as its predecessor model. As a consequence, you can easily loose it on a bike ride and it also creates a rattle noise.

Over engineered

Overly complex, leaves a full swallow of liquid in the bottle. That can only be obtained by removing the lid. Lid leaks when squeezed rapidly. Lost the dust cover on 1 bottle. And after 100 miles of riding I still haven't found a use for the locking mechanism.

Best MTB Water bottle

Best water bottle for MTB, keeps the dirt off the mouthpiece, water flows well, easy to use with one hand, and even has a locking mechanism for travel to the trail. Perfect!

My all time favorite bottle

I have no idea what these ppl are talking about with their complaints of not being able to actuate the valve or disassemble it for cleaning. Seriously. I'm only writing this review because I was irritated by how bad some ppl made it sound when it really is the best bottle I've ever used and it took me about 30 seconds to figure out how to take it apart.

I like it!!! The dirt cap is everything

Who would have thought? Especially only riding in New York City. But, I have to say, when I do reach down to grab, the dirt cap has dirt on it. Hmm, than means without the cap, I would have been sucking on dirt. I like it. It gives me a reason to find the trail in Central Park. It is not just about the loop ya know.

A good review from a short person's perspective

I was confused when I read reviews indicating injuries to fingers from this bottle. I do struggle a bit when opening this while riding with one hand, so I leave them set to open while riding. To give a bit of objectivity to this review I will tell you a bit about my hands. I wear a size 7 ring, they have zero calluses, and I have worked a dsk job my whole life. Additionally my girlfriend says they are dainty. The dirt cap is awesome. It stays on and can be removed for cleaning which is great. It is nice to drink water without mud or road grit being the first thing you taste. The size and shape of this 21 oz. bottle is great for size small bikes like mine. It works great mounted on the bottom of the down tube. Other bottles I tried were so long that It nearly contacted the tire leaving the top covered with grit. That is a thing of the past now. The engineering of the friction lock does leave a bit to be desired as indicated by other reviewers, however this may be to prolong the life of the bottle, As one engineer I can't judge the engineering and experience of an industry I don't work in. For the price this is a great product and I would recommend it highly!

Great idea, but the cap broke after 5 rides

Great concept as my mountain bike only has a place for one bottle in the triangle, but can mount another outside. That bottle picks up dirt so thought this was perfect solution. Used it 5 times and on 5th ride I looked down and notice the cap cover was gone. Thus, it couldn't withstand 5 mountain bike rides.
