    Personal heaters for your hands.

Burton knows you want to get the most out of your day on the mountain, which is why it designed the Gore-Tex Mitten. Made with a Gore-Tex waterproof membrane, DryRide Durashell two-layer fabric, and Thermacore insulation, the Gore-Tex Mitten will keep your hands warm from first chair to last run. And if all this warmth isn't enough, add the hidden heater/vent pocket, and the removable four–way stretch DryRide Thermex liner, and your hands will have it made. And don't forget to use the Screen Grab Toughgrip leather palm to scroll through your playlist between runs, because who couldn't use a soundtrack to accompany an epic day of riding?

    Super Warm

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I don't even need the liner, these things are hot. No noticeable wear on them from 20 or so uses. When it's cold enough to need these it's not generally the type of snow that will soak through your stuff, but as far as I can tell the waterproof level is great. Basically if it's too cold for these I probably don't want to be out snowboarding.

    Wasn't impressed

I took these mittens out boarding and within a couple hours they were all scuffed up. Just doing up a my bindings a few times was enough to put some serious wear on it. I decided to return them before they got even worse.

      Fantastic Mittens

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought these mittens a few weeks ago for a trip to Breckenridge. My old Spyder gloves were worn out and never kept my hands warm enough. I switched to these Burton (Bog Heather) Mittens and I will never go back. I climbed to the summit with these mittens and my fingers were fine the whole time. I used my own personal liners, but the liners that came with the mittens seem fine.

The tightening strap is easy to tighten and loosen so the mittens stay snug. The pull cord that slims the wrist cover for the mitten works great so you can slide your gloves in your jacket with ease.

I reached the summit and, as it turns out, one of the guys I ran into up there had the Burton glove version of these mittens. Super happy with this purchase.

      Liner not work for phone!

Everything is good, very warm. The outer mitten might get little wet inside during rainy days, but inside liner (five fingers gloves) is totally dry. BUT inner gloves totally not work for touchscreen!!! (Only outer shell dose, works good, but who will use cellphone with a mitten?)

        Burton mittens

These were given as a gift but I have been given feedback to provide. The recipient of the gift had never used mittens before so switching from gloves it was a bit of an adjustment to not be able to truly use your fingers to grab the poles or make adjustments to your boots. However, the recipient will never go back to gloves. Despite the mittens feeling very light weight and insubstantial, they are incredibly warm and practical. The liners were avoided for colder ski days but are a nice addition to the mittens. The pocket for hand warmers are also a nice touch.

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I picked these bad boys up after freezing my fingers off for too many years wearing gloves. I'm happy to report that I think I made the right decision as my digits stay nice and toasty now. These come with a removable liner as well. They are especially convenient because throwing a hand warmer in a mitten is soooo much easier than in a glove. The only thing that kept this item from getting 5 stars is that the liner does not work very well on phones as advertised.

          Worth the money

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My previous ones were not gortex and got wet way too often. I got these ones and I'm definitely feeling dryer and happier. The pocket for stashing your hand warmers/venting is a nice feature. I can't say the warmth goes to my hands as well as when I just stick them inside the mitten and hug them with my hands, but I like it because then I'm not afraid of losing those little bags every time I pull my hand out of the mitten. The elastic strap that goes around the wrist is great and makes it very easy to put around the wrist when compared to non-elastic ones. Both the wrist gaiter and the wrist strap tighten easily to prevent any snow from going inside the mitten even in deep powder. The leather lined palm hasn't shown any signs of wear so far. I am missing the little rubber wiper-like feature that many mittens have to wipe snow off my goggles, but I can get along without it. The mitten itself is touch-screen friendly, the liners aren't. The mittens definitely feel warmer to me than any gloves I ever had, must be the fact most of my fingers occupy a single space and share warmth with one another. I would gladly recommend these!

          Not Durable

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

While plenty warm and water proof, don't expect them to last very long. The leather palm is pretty much worthless, both my mitten leather lining ripped within about 10 days of riding with the gore tex liner exposed. I'd pass on these unless your delicate.

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These mittens look a lot better than they perform. Without wearing the liner gloves they are nothing but a shell (no warmth provided). With the liner gloves they are a little better, but the liners advertised as touch screen friendly are not. The liners are the weak link in this mitten. I've switched them out for a pair of Pearl Izumi bike riding gloves and that has helped, but frankly these mittens with liners are no better at keeping my hands warm than a regular pair of ski gloves. So for the penalty of losing all dexterity by wearing mittens, these are not worth it. I will say the shell keeps the inside dry even in very wet conditions so they earn a "3" rating rather than a 2.

One correction to your statement. "the liners advertised as touch screen friendly are not." It is the Screen Grab Toughgrip leather palm on the outer shell that is touch screen friendly on the tip of the thumb and forefinger

          Great Mittens

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These mittens came with nice liners and really do a great job keeping your hands warm for long periods of time. Im still waiting to hit the mountains in these things, but so far i dont see anything to suggest they wont hold up.

          Super warm gloves!!

These mittens are super warm with a nice fleece lining on the inside. When I first got them I felt like I had way too much room but after used them a few times they broke in and would move with my hand much better. I have had no problems with any water getting through and they breath pretty well so my hands wont get too sweaty. defiantly recommend for anyone looking for a cold day mitten

Great Mittens - Could use 2 improvements

            • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These are great mittens. Just used them on a -5 degree day and they worked great. I love the new synthetic material on the palm. It is great that it allows touchscreen grab with the gloves on. All around a warm and durable feeling mitten. I generally shy away from leather palms to a synthetic palm, because synthetic is more durable and fully waterproof. I ordered other mittens in this price range and the Burton's were made from higher quality materials than the others.

            2 things could be improved:

The Gore Leather mitten has a small course patch on the inside of the index finger for a goggle wipe. I wish Burton would have added the patch to this synthetic palm model as well. Also the wrist gaiters could stand to be about 1/2" to 1" inch longer. My old Gore mittens from about 8 years ago wore out, but they had a slighter longer gaiter which made use a little easier.

            Great buy

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these for my utah trip and couldn't be happier. It got down to -24F and warm as 25F and they worked great. The outer shell mitten keeps you dry and also you can use the zipper vent for cooling or packing a hand warmer inside to keep hands warm. The liner is a glove and has textured palm grip for helping with zipping jackets and other tasks that involve dexterity. The liner also dried quick in between runs during lunch. I used just the shell mitten during the warmer days and it worked great. Love these gloves.

            3 and 1 !

Only if your whole body can fit in this bad boy. Gore-Tex guarantee to keep you dry and the dryride thermax liner dries super fast. You can wear just the liner or just the shell or combine both for those mid winter conditions. Has Hidden heater vent pockets and a pre curved fit for extra warmth and comfort.

Do these mittens have finger separaters...

Do these mittens have finger separaters inside the glove?

              Best Answer

No finger separaters in these mittens. They have a traditional mitten pocket for your fingers. They do come with a stretch fleece burton liner glove that does have fingers. The liners are a separate glove.
