    Made for snowboarding.

Instead of modifying ski skins to make them work with your snowboard, make things easy on yourself with the Burton Family Tree x G3 High Traction Splitboard Skins. Made extra-wide to fit your splitboard right out of the box, these skins will instantly improve your backcountry experience.

G3 improved upon its legendary climbing skin design by using plush, high-traction synthetic material on the base of the Highfriction Splitboard Skin. Compared to previous skins, the high-friction material offers a 10- to 20-percent increase in traction on steep, hard-packed surface. Couple this increase in climbing ability with tip connectors that give this skin a glove-like fit, and you get the ideal solution for ditching the lift crowds in favor of untouched lines.

The Sizing Seems to be off

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The small size barely fits the 158cm board . Extremely tight. Had tor return to get a size larger. Beware of sizing issues depending on your board. The skins themselves are great, and come with a bag and trimming tool, but no cheat sheet. overall, okay product.

    Great Skins!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I am happy with these high traction skins. They fit my Burton splitboard perfectly, and are easy to apply on and off. The high traction is wonderful to have on steeper outings, I feel confident that they will stick. I do wish a had a pair that glides better on low angle mellow days for efficiency. Careful with storage on the G3’s, the glue can get gloppy when stored improperly. Always hang them to dry after an outing, and never leave them on your board over night, apply in the morning.

    Great skins!

These skins grip excellent when climbing uphill. They are easy to trim with the included G3 trim tool. The nose and tail clips are designed really well to fit any shape snowboard. They go on and off super easy for quick change overs. I would definitely recommend these skins or any others by G3.

    Buy them!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought these skins for my Burton custom spiltboard. Must say these things are great, super high traction when skinning up a steep slope. It was super simple to cut as well for the shape of your board. I would highly recommend these if its for a Burton Spiltboard.

    Great skins

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Bought these for my Burton Landlord Split and love them. I have about 10 days on them and the other reviewers are spot on. The adhesive is super sticky and works out my arms to get them separated. Glad that they are that sticky as i expect them to last a long time. Tail clips work well, haven't needed to adjust them after first setting. Only negative is that when putting them on the ski, the top clip doesn't quite naturally align with the ski (kinda goes off 10 degrees to the right) so I have to really pull to the left to get the skin to align down the ski so there isn't bunching at the top. Not a big deal, but can be a little annoying when skinning in some sketchy spots.
Ride-wise they make me feel like spider-man when I'm going up steep terrain. Great gripe in all conditions, even summer slush that has been glazed at Rainier. Haven't done long distances down hill, but done some short ones and had no issues, although you obviously won't glide super fast with these.
All in all they are as advertised and do a great job.

    high traction for sure

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Excellent for climbing, grips even on blue ice; haven't needed crampons yet. Glide on the flats is somewhat restricted, and for extensive touring (more than 20 km) I'd prefer skins with some mohair; great for tracking downhill though.

Adhesive is almost too strong, check the board for any residue before riding, and prepare to work your pecs when separating the skins - even when it's really cold (I live in Greenland... that kind of cold).

Clips work fine. Tail clips are nice on the way home when half the sticky surface is jammed with snow and the skins are stiff.

Skin savers for off season storage NOT included - that's kind of stupid.

    Included cutting tool works well.

    high traction for sure

    Awesome skins

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Really nice high traction skins, fun that burton teamed up with g3 to make a fun different design on them. They hold very well in all temperatures on all different snowpacks, very impressed with these!

If I'm between sizes (NS Prospector 161x), is there a benefit to going with one size over the other? Do these work alright for a wide board?
