Family Tree Flight Attendant X Splitboard

Based on the backcountry freestyle master Flight Attendant split, the Burton Family Tree Flight Attendant X Splitboard offers the same free-flowing pow-shredding experience as the original, only with upgraded features that make it lighter on the ascent and stronger, faster, and more powerful on the ride down. This is the board to get if you like taking on exposed steeps in the alpine just as much as you love popping off pillows and spinning off natural features below the treeline.

The first thing that separates this version from the original is the use of Mystery glass, which utilizes carbon to make it lighter and stronger simultaneously, and also allows for a more responsive flex profile that gives you greater control in technical terrain and high-speed riding. Also making it lighter is the Dragonfly core, which means less effort on the uphill. And since speed is your friend, Burton also upgraded the base to the Methlon base, which offers race-quality speed so you're always flying down the mountain.

The secret to the Flight Attendant X split's intuition across steep terrain, fresh powder, and hardpack snow lies within its Balanced Freeride Geometry. This geometry combines a tapered directional shape (10mm of taper) with set-back camber and an early-rise nose to deliver effortless float in deep snow, without sacrificing the board's ability to lay an aggressive edge on sloughed steeps and icy chutes. By placing the camber's most prominent section along the rear of the board, the Flight Attendant X has a powerful feel for blasting turns off the back foot. The prominent camber also comes into play on the ascent by providing extra stability under the touring brackets. And much like a twin-shaped board, the sidecut is centered along the reference stance, allowing you to ride backcountry terrain how you would ride in-bounds terrain on a deep powder day. Squeezebox core profiling thins out the core for increased energy transfer, making the board surprisingly nimble for darting in the trees and ripping carves. Plus, Burton equipped this board with the Split Channel system and mounting pucks, which makes dialing in your backcountry setup easier than ever.
