    Often imitated, never duplicated.

The little brother of the legendary Custom, the Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard takes everything that makes the Custom great, then adds a hybrid profile for a floatier, more forgiving ride that still dominates the entire mountain. Between it's versatile profile, poppy feel, and lightweight construction, it's not hard to see why the Custom Flying V is one of the most popular decks on the market.

The Flying V profile features rocker at the tips and between the bindings for float in powder and catch-free riding on hardpack, while camber underfoot adds pop and improves drive and precision. A slightly set-back stance adds control and float without compromising switch riding. 45° Carbon Highlights construction uses a tip-to-tail layer of carbon to drastically reduce weight while creating an aggressive, responsive feel so you can point it with confidence.

The Superfly II core uses lightweight woods that specifically target strategic areas to drop weight and increase pop, and Dualzone EGD adds edge control by placing perpendicular strips of wood along the edges. Squeezebox profiling makes the core thinner where you want flex and thicker where you need strength. Frostbite edges extend out from under your bindings to create extra contact points so you can hold an edge on icy halfpipe walls and sketchy steeps. Infinite Ride construction means this board feels broken-in from day one, and it's finished off with an extra-absorbent Sintered WFO base to resist damage and keep you hauling ass all over the mountain.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I recently got a chance to spend some time on the Custom Flying V. My normal board preference is a shorter softer park setup with medium flex boots and bindings. I needed a board to do some shallow pow riding at higher speeds so I snagged the Custom Flying V 158. I have done a number of Burton demos in the past as well as a number of other boards from other manufacturers and one thing stays consistent, and that is my love for modified rocker boards, just so you know where my preferences are.

The board was just stiff enough through the tip and tail that I did not loop out on backseat landings, even in instances where my normal board would have shut me down. The wider width, longer length, and stiffer flex aided in faster and steeper riding with confidence. This would be a great all around board for anybody looking for that one board setup.

    All around great board!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Purchased this board after my first season of learning how to snowboard, was previously riding the wrong size for my weight and height (Another burton snowboard off Craigslist). After taking the Burton Custom Flying V (2015-2016 model in my appropriate size) out on the mountain, I won't never go back to anything else! Playful enough for the park and great for floating on powder. This board does it's best with hitting target points for every rider.
