Not warm

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Compared to other neck gaiters that I have this one is not warm enough for cold Vermont ski days. It will probably be best for warmer days.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This buff is insane!! Perfect for really cold and deep ski days up at the Bird. A little heavy for warmer and balmier temps, but just pick up an original buff and use that instead!

Polar Buff = AMAZING!

I bought a polar buff last year and already have over 40 days of riding the mountain with it on. It is one of my go-to, everyday riding piece on Wasatch resorts. It is incredibly versatile to wear as well with the different weather patterns it can excel in. And after the amount of use I've gotten out of it, it's durable too. Another thing I like about it so much is how soft and comfortable it is.
This year I bought the Afgan Blue for my wife and she is thrilled. Great fit, coverage, color, quality, etc. We love the Polar Buffs!

My favorite member of the Buff family!

For cold weather, don't settle for the Original -- go Polar. The fleece is super soft and feels cozy against your face during the harshest of elements. I love my Original buff for spring skiing, hiking, and fishing, but during the winter, I *need* that extra layer to block those bitter winds. A must have for any winter sports enthusiast.

A big step up from OG Buff

I've worn this every day since I got it and I'm really impressed. I've got a couple original buffs, which are great down to the upper 20s, maybe, but once you get colder than that you start to need something serious to keep your face warm on those early morning commutes. And this sure does the job! I'd say it's probably three or four times as insulating as a normal one, what with the interior fleece layer. I might buy a few more because these are bound to get gross quickly breathing thru them all the time. But that's inevitable.

    Warm Face

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I have one of the original Buffs and while I love it, my face gets really cold on those really cold days. The fleece on the Polar version is soft against my skin and my face has definitely been more comfortable. I agree with other reviews - you might want to get a couple of these (or a couple of different buffs).. I wear mine over my mouth and I feel like I need to wash it often.

    Get more than one!

I'm in love with the reversible Polar Buff! It is warm and snug (but not too tight). When I pull it up over my nose, it stays put and keeps me super warm. It's a good idea to get a few... because if you wear them over your mouth a lot, they will need cleaning.

    Warm and Breathable

Incredibly warm and keeps the wind off your face. Doesn't feel too bulky though so you don't feel like your suffocating when you wear it. Must have for cold and stormy days!

    Polar Buff

Love the polar buff. I put it through the wringer the past few trips on the slopes. It was low teens with 20+ mph wind gusts and big powder, all day. I stayed warm throughout my head, face, mouth and nose and neck after hours and hours of riding.
Also, only a 30 degree day with no wind, the polar buff still kept me warm, but I didn't over heat. Highly recommended.

    Polar Buff

Fantastic buff. Super soft fleece liner on the inside and rad color scheme on the out (I went with the Rasta theme). Keeps my ears, neck, chin, mouth, and nose warm! My favorite part is being able to pull the Buff over my mouth when riding, and then off easily to talk with my buddy's after a good run. Really happy with the performance, especially when riding the slopes all day.

      I guess I should have ordered 2.

I ordered this for skiing and snow shoeing. The inside is super soft and warm, I can't wait to use it. It also works for Chloe as a tube top. She won't wear anything else, but she likes her buff!

      I guess I should have ordered 2.
