Yes, it is thin as other said, but proper for athletic pursuits, not for sitting outside in the winter. I own the non-wool Buff beanies and they are great, but no blue to match my xc ski kit. So, I bought this blue wool one. The problem is the fold at the edge of the cap, between the inner and outer material. When you put it on either the inside material is showing/ rolled to the outside or the outside material is rolled inside. I wish I knew this before I wore it as I would have returned it. Come on it’s a beanie, put on and go, not have to look into a mirror to get it looking proper. But I bet the hatless homeless person I give it to will love it! Maybe that was Buff’s demographic for this hat.

This is a great lightweight beanie. It makes it really easy to adjust head coverage for more or less heat retention. Works great and is very light. A helmet or another hat can fit over pretty well.
