For the rugged runner.
Even the friendliest of trails pack plenty of surprises. When you're hitting the trail you need a shoe that's ready for anything, and Brooks has it for you with their Men's Cascadia 13 Trail Running Shoe. The latest version of Brooks' most popular trail shoe, the Cascadia 13 added a few things to keep you cruising on the trail. Its new 3D Rubber Print Mud Guard along the outside of the shoe keeps out mud and any other trail debris that might come along, helping put an end to wet and dirty socks. Its outsole is designed for rugged traction, complete with a rock shield to protect you from unexpected trail hazards, and a stabilizing suspension system to keep your stride stable and strong through variable trail conditions.
There's more to a good trail shoe than just protection—it's gotta be comfortable too. The Cascadia 13 certainly is, with a BioMoGo DNA midsole providing adaptive support to keep your foot comfortable every single stride, no matter the terrain. You won't overheat either, with a breathable upper ensuring your feet get plenty of airflow on hot and dusty summer runs, all without sacrificing protection.

Weak rubber sole
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Love the shoe but the rubber sole is pretty soft. I just got done doing a fairly easy 2.5 mile trail and there are small pieces of rubber torn off after that one hike. Not too impressed. I love everything else about the shoe.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs large

I have been a fan of Brooks for a long time in that they really match the fit of my feet well. I took a gamble on this shoe in that I usually get footwear with more arch support but so far it's worked well. While not having all the support I'm used to or that I prefer, I still feel like the fit is good enough that my feet don't hurt. I think the shoe is very well made. I like the thoughtful considerations in this trail runner. The toe is protected by a thin rubber membrane and that is probably my most favorite part about this shoe. It's good on the road and the trail, and I use it to do about 4 miles daily. The shoe fit seems large so I actually went down a half a size to make this one work. All in all though, I'm really pleased and I'd actually pick up another one if I was looking again.
After half marathon trail run
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I got these for my boyfriend as a gift because I have the women's version and absolutely love them. Unfortunately, my boyfriend has wider feet than me, which I did not take into consideration before ordering. I ended up returning them for him because he said the inside bone just below his big toe was getting pinched by the toe box. I have had zero issues with this, but his wider feet needed more room than mine. I use mine all the time for trail running and I think they fit like a glove. Just be aware that if you have really wide feet, these may be a bit tight for you. Overall mine have held up for many miles and these are my absolute favorite trail running shoe!
