Great for Beginners.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
This is my first net, so I went with something on the lower end price wise and this was recommended to me by a friend. Initial impressions are that it seems to be a quality net. As other reviewers have stated, it's a bit smaller than I expected but I have yet to catch a fish that I can't scoop up. Pretty ligthweight and a decently long handle. Overall very happy with this purchase!

Great Design and Performance
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I picked up fly fishing about 6 months ago and decided it was time to get my own net. I had been talking to a friend of mine about which brand I should go with and right away, he said Brodin so I decided on the Trout Phantom Series Net. This net is super durable and has a great finish to the wood. As laurel says below, anything about 16 inches, it gets a little tricky. It comes with a clip so you can attach it to you pack, vest or clothing. Awesome buy and highly recommend getting a Brodin net for youself!

Great for wading

Like the other reviewers said, this is a great net if you are wading and catching smaller fish. Anything above 16in does get a bit tough. Not too cumbersome to walk with and great for most Utah trout fishing!

Feels solid
Seems like it's perfectly adequate for anything I'll need it for here in Utah. Feels solid and doesn't weigh too much.

Nice Quality, Size Questionable
This appears to be a well made net and is nice looking for the price point. Although it's probably sized ok for most Utah rivers, it really is quite small and not universal enough for someone who can afford a single net. I'm returning it for the Brodin Davidson Trout net. If you're looking to land 12-15 inch fish, then you will be happy with this.

good for everyone

This net is fantastic for wading. The thermoplastic net is wonderful because your hooks do not get caught in it as easily and this material does not damage the fish's scales coating. For bigger fish I'd definitely get a bigger net!

Great for Wade Fishing
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This net is great for wade fishing and catching sub 16" fish. With bigger fish, the net is lacking in size and makes the process difficult. This is especially true when dealing with 16"+ trout from a drift boat. The net itself is wonderful, I would just opt for something bigger if your not primarily using this for wade fishing.

Protect Trout
Example of how Brodin's Ghost nets provide the ability to keep the fish in the water while still providing a good view of the fish. This is tough to do with standard netting, but the rubber "ghost" setting takes care of your fish and you by making life a little easier than digging through the standard netting to get to the hook.

Brodins Ghost Nets are great for taking care of fish and making the release easy. The net protects the fish and is great for viewing your catch while still keeping the fish in the water, while also allowing easy handling of the fish for a quick pose (3 sec.) for the camera and back in the water.
