I was purely a functional hat person (camping, a beanie when it's cold, etc). But this hat has started a fire in my heart and a passion for collecting hats! I get so many compliments and love it to pieces. I took the leather strings off because I prefer the look and usually wear it with more dressy outfits. Almost all customers and people I've talked to about this product say to get a S or even an XS; with ordering a medium I wish I had ordered a small, since whenever it's windy it wont stay on my head.

I LOVE this hat and want it in every single color. I wore this all over during my adventures and it stayed in such great condition. It made it through rain and hail and my head stayed nice and dry. I got a Large because I find I have a big head and it fit perfectly. 10/10 recommend.

I LOVE this hat for when I go on long weekend adventures where I won't be washing or brushing my hair for a few days. No matter how greasy, tangled and smoke-soaked my hair is, I throw this hat on and I look like a Pinterest Qweeeen. This field hat will make any dirty granola look like they have their life together in .2 seconds. Would recommend to my mom, brother, grandma, cousin twice-removed, and dog... basically everyone.

No need to wear it only for shows, it goes with anything, anywhere (mostly). I wear it at Bluegrass shows, camping, fishing, and even to a wedding or two. Will fade in color if you leave it in the sun constantly but hold up fairly well. It does run a little large but if you follow the measurements on the sizing chart you are golden. Have had mine for two years and the brim is starting to get a little wonky, might try to iron it to see if I can flatten it out again. Other than that, love this hat and you will too.

This hat looks great, exactly as in the photos. I have not had an issue with the ends turning up cowboy style as another review mentioned. The brim is flat. However, this hat runs large. If you are between sizes or close to the upper limit on a size, order down. I normally always use large hats and returned it for a medium.

In the winter, the top of my head likes to hibernate under a beanie. However, I've decided that sometimes, it deserve to hibernate under something a bit fancier, so I got my first Brixton hat as a Christmas present to my head. Judging by the man who I bought a pretzel from in New York, it looks good! The quality is amazing, it doesn't seem like a hat that will warp easily. I got a size small and it fits well, if not a tad roomy.

Iv been a Brixton fan for a bit now. I already have this hat in black and well..i love it! its my go to hat for literally everything. So naturally i had to buy it in the brown and i love that color. Super stylish and yet practical! i wear this hat around town or when im out hiking since it keeps the sun out of my face. I will say its more cowboy-ish hat, the ends do roll up a bit, but im down for that style, overall love the hat, will probably get it in more colors!

Great all around field hat

I got this hat in the heather gray. It is super cute. It's really comfortable once you know what size to get. I based my measurement off of my helmet size and it worked out for me. The string is a nice added touch. I love the simplicity and look of this hat as a whole.

I love this hat, I wear it hiking, rock it around town, wear it to work on a day I don't have meetings but an office day. I have the moss green color and I love it. It's light and the strap is nice for when it's windy or if you want to take off.

Brixton field hat

Very pleased with my purchase as a whole. I have been through quit a few hats as I work in the field from salt marsh to many miles away from civilization doing habitat restoration for native and endangered species. I have owned a few outdoor research Seattle sombreros which is a great hat but it can be very floppy with the slightest wind. I wanted something more solid and that's why I ordered the field hat. It stays on my head firmly through most conditions( I do think something like a little bolo brass piece would be a nice addition in case of high winds). I've done a good bit of hiking, riding horses and working in some muggy conditions that had me wanting for a lighter material, but that's not what this hat is expected to be used for so that ones on me I guess. Overall it's a great hat to have in your quiver and I wear mine almost everyday. It would be wonderful if brixton released the same model in a more breathable fabric.

I bought the XS because I have a child sized head. It doesn't show in the size chart what an XS corresponds to, so I really wasn't sure if I could make it work or not. My head measures 21.75 cm around. I know I would need to get a small.

I had to return this hat before I could wear it due to it being too small. I purchased an XS tan and it was a little snug. Too snug for comfort, I could have probably got away with it. I purchased the XS because I have an XS in the Brixton Tiller hat and that by far is my favorite hat. The main difference between the two is the top. The top is more of a cowboy hat here so that is why it fit a little smaller than the round Tiller top. This is a great looking hat though! I was hoping to get a different hat than the Tiller but there was not another one in my size I needed. This is a great hat for keeping the shade off your face and neck! ***Another thing I liked about this was the little shinny Brixton logo on the side. Looks fancy and the Tiller does not have that.
