My Go To Shoe
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:
- True to size
- Size Bought
- 10
- Height
- 5` 9"
- Weight
- 160 lbs
I wear these and Boreal Ballet Gold's in my street shoe size (10) for all day trad. For me, no shoe is more comfortable. For the colder months, I have a pair of 10.5's that I can comfortably wear socks with. I have also tried a half size down at 9.5 and they just took a bit to break in but were comfortably tight for better edging. I would have given them five stars if it wasn't for their crappy rubber. I resole every pair I buy.

Trad Daddy
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:
- Runs large
This is my 4th pair of Ace's are would fully recommend them for trad. The sole is super stiff and supportive for long multi pitch climbs. They also edge really well and the leather construction is highly durable for cracks and chimenys. The canvas lining keeps the odor down and wicks well. These do stretch quite a bit though so would suggest sizing down a half to full size.

Hi Joshua, The previous years models were board lasted, but Boreal switched it up for 2019 and now they are slip lasted. I'll work on getting our Tech Specs updated. Thank you!

Other than the rubber, these shoes are what I am looking for. I want to size them comfortably and from what I understand, to get that comfort, I should go with my street show size which is a 10. What size would be recommended for long trad routes?

Arin, the 10 should be comfortable on long trad routes, after you have broken them in. I will work with you directly, to make sure you find the right shoe. So, feel free to reach out to me directly.

Thanks for your review. Boreals aren't that widely used, so all the info you have is much welcome!
