good but short
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit:
- Runs small
I know the length is listed but I assumed this would be useable for a double rope rappel. It is a bit on the short side and only allows 2 wraps for a prusik. Even then, though, it is a bit too short to have good control over your descent. Works better on a single rope rappel. still only wraps tice, but bites well and kept me safe hands free. (every time I have used it I extended my ATC and had the prusik on a carabiner on my belay loop.)

Im very happy with this purchase. it met all my expectations and have used it only a few times but its what i feel like you should have, want and need in a prusik.

Excellent Bluewater quality
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
These are great. The sewn loops are much cleaner than lumpy fisherman's knots and the plastic sheathing helps to control the position of the sewn part. Previous reviewer did not realize the cord will slide through the plastic, allowing for adjustment.

Not what I expected ...
I'm sure this prusik loop would have been great. My friend has one and his works out alright. When I got mine, the plastic was placed too far in the center, leaving too much room on the loop where my carabiner is supposed to attach. With what I have I can only make two loops in my prusik knot when I ideally want three. At this point, it's a bit of a hassle to pay for the shipping to return this. I guess buy at your own risk, knowing this might happens. I would suggest making your own prusik loop if you feel confident.

It's adjustable: The cord slides through the plastic. Clip a biner and pull on the side of the cord that is not sewn. It should snug right up to your biner. You can make the loop as small as you would like.

Bobby, reviewing a locking biner: 1 star, could not open by pushing like my friend's wire gate carabiner. Not sure what I am supposed to do with this metal oval.
