Blue Water's skinniest is also the most versatile.

At 8.8mm, the Argon Double Dry Climbing Rope is undoubtedly Blue Water's skinniest single line our there, and since it's certified as a twin and half, it has more versatility in the vertical world than most ropes out there. It looks at home high up in the alpine or on a desert tower as it does on a ridiculously challenging sport or traditional single-pitch route. This Argon features Blue Water's top-of-the-line Double Dry treatment, which coats both core and sheath to practically eliminate water absorption and drastically increase abrasion-resistance.

    • Climbing rope certified as single, half, or twin
    • 8.8mm is one of the skinniest singles around
    • Double Dry treats both sheath and core for water-resistance

    Great Rope So Far

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Great rope. I've taken it out twice. The dry treatment is awesome and the rope handled well on a wet WI climb. I haven't fallen on it, but rapping down all 240 feet of it made it's expansion (and thus fall impact absorption) quite evident. If you are considering this rope for alpine and remote climbs, I would tell you this: 52g/m is light, but 80 meters of it is not. That said, the lightest triple rated dry rope is 48g/m, so it doesn't get much better than this.

    Love this rope

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this rope for alpine adventures and it has not disappointed. While my friends are carrying large bundles of rope I'm carrying an easy to manage light rope due to the super skinny nature. I would recommend if your interest is in long distant alpine multi pitching. I have the blue green color and always get compliments on how cool it looks.
