Great and simple axe to push peaks!

Used this ice axe on my recent Mt. Whitney summit push. It felt super comfortable and light when using it on some spicy traverses. I did hit a couple of rocks when plunging the ax into spots, but don't see any damage done to the spike. Love that this does come with a sliding pommel to protect your hand at multiple spots along the shaft. I'm about 6ft and went with the 60cm length. I feel like this size worked great when you are on an inclined slope, but I did find myself wanting a longer length when on relatively flat terrain. The axe weighed in at about 15.3oz/433g without the pick, adze, and spike guard (pommel still on the axe). #BackcountryGearhead

This axe is not 8.5 ounces as it says in the soecs. It’s about 13 ounces. Should have checked manufacturers site before purchasing I guess.
