Compared to its wider brethren in this category, the Brahma 88 utilizes its TrueBlend Woodcore, two sheets of metal and reduced rocker profile for a better grip on harder snow but is versatile enough for a variety of snow conditions. This ski will take the energy you give it and transfer that power into the snowpack, so you can rip down the mountain with confidence and ease. As the days smooth terrain gets eaten up by hungry skiers, the Brahma has the backbone to ski efficiently through chopped up crud, which means youll be skiing longer (and stronger) than everyone else. Unbelievable edge hold for this category
I'm an ex racer, level 3 CSCF coach, 6' tall and 180lbs. I've had the Brahma in 189cm for 2 seasons now and all I can say is wow. This ski rips and it has absolutely incredible edge hold, especially for this category. I live in BC, and this ski is the perfect choice for the groomer days. I recently spent 10 days at Mont Sainte Anne in Quebec, where the conditions were bordering on blue ice and these skis did their job. I spent a day blasting groomers with another ex-racer who was on the WRC GS skis and I was up his a$$ the whole time. Sweeping GS turns or short radius on the steep, man-made Eastern snow; not once did the Brahma falter. I used to swear by the Volkl Mantra, but now the Brahma is the new king of the hill.

When you don't plan on making a bunch of turns - the Brahmas are the choice. Stable, smooth, but not heavy nor clumsy. The price is right. Just the perfect groomer riper.
