    A bona fide daily driver.

Whether there's powder, wind-buffed chalk, a thin layer of corn, or bulletproof hardpack, the Blizzard Bonafide Ski will easily rip the mountain from top to bottom. This favorite of ski testers everywhere has an even more accessible feel thanks to its Carbon Flipcore technology. 90-degree directional carbon fiber in the tip and tail helps to stabilize the rocker when you're rallying groomers, eliminates tip chatter, and helps to reduce the swing weight of the ski. With a 98mm waist, Blizzard designed the Bonafide to be the most versatile ski in its freeride lineup. Its midfat waist and rockered tip and tail offer excellent flotation in the steep and deep and provides easy turn initiation wherever you are on the mountain.

This daily driver tears up groomers, open bowls, crud, bumps, boilerplate ice, and champagne powder with flying colors. Sandwich sidewall construction makes it a precise and powerful turning machine, and a poplar-beech wood core provides smooth and fluid turning. Utilizing its revolutionary Flipcore technology, Blizzard put the Bonafide's core into the mold upside-down, giving the tip and tail a naturally rockered shape rather than weakening the ski's integrity by pressing it into shape as is the case with most rockered skis.

    All new for 2018

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

For the first time since it's inception the Bonafide gets a bit of a makeover. Blizzard didn't want to change inherently what the ski was as it has been a crowd favorite for quite some time but it was time to update the ski and give it a little more modern twist. It still has the same 2.5 sheets of metal and full wood core, and carbon flipcore construction but an updated sidecut and rocker profile really help to widen the performance envelope. The increased sidecut (generally 2 meters per size) make the ski more nimble at slower speeds where as the modified rocker profile helps the tips to plane better in softer snow and also helps to stabilize the ski at high speeds. A modern version of a cult favorite.

    Improved Nimbleness and Snappy

I had the 2014 Bones and later went to the Peacemaker but came back to the 2018 Bones at the end of last year. The newest model is a great all around ski. The old bones had a high speed limit but were poor for quick turn initiation for bumps, trees etc in my opinion. The new Bones have a 18 turn radius vs the old 21 but gives up maybe 5% or so of the top end. It also feels more snappy coming out of turns but still rails good. For me this is my go to groomer and bump ski but still does well in powder for the width. The second pair of skis I have is the Volkl 100 eight for powder and spring skiing days. I live in Tahoe full time get 40 + days a year in. Love the new bones amazing ski.
