Sweat Net

You wouldn't expect that an apprenticeship at a local bike shop would reveal lessons in chemistry, but nature becomes apparent the first time someone walks their bike through the door for a spring tune-up after a hard winter of indoor training. Generally, this is when the wily shop veterans shove the newbies out onto the floor to intercept the customer they know all too well. Caustic sweat is a fact of life for some folks. That's why the Blackburn Sweat Net is a good idea if you're planning to spend a few hours or more on the trainer this winter.

It will protect your bike frame from the shower of sweat that drips off your face when you hammer down. Hell, it's a good idea even if your sweat doesn't seem to produce a corrosive effect on the alloy and steel component parts of your bike. Keeping your bike clean will be that much easier, and a clean bike is a well-running bike.

The Blackburn Sweat Net is made with web straps that cinch on the handlebars and seatpost. It stretches along the length of your top tube to protect your bike frame and components. When it gets yucky, simply throw it in the wash with your kit.

I've put it through the wringer

Agree with the other reviews. Sizing is a bit off and it definitely would be too large for some smaller frame sizes and probably too small if you are on the opposite end of the spectrum. My frame is a 53 and it works great for my setup. I sweat a decent amount outside so you can only imagine how bad it could be on the trainer. Great addition to keep the cockpit clean and salt free.

Works pretty well!

Much better than the towel I was using on trainer rides. Would recommend.

I've put it through the wringer

I do indoor riding on trainer at least twice per week, so I replaced the small towel for this sweat net. Is easy to set up and use. Overall I'm very satisfied.

Not really 1 size fits all.

I've used it several times

This is definitely a well made piece of equipment. It is easy to install but as a shorter rider (54cm Frame) it is actually a bit big. the Velcro straps are a little long but can be trimmed as this is the only bike I will be installing it on. It works well and is quality just be prepared to modify it a little to get the right fit.

Absolute essential

I've put it through the wringer

The description says why and I back every word, and then some. Your sweat drops on the stem, headset, cables. The steel and aluminum bits will corrode if you don't cover them. This is much better than a towel. The wet side is always up. It also does not block the air from the fan you should be using. After 15 years my elastic is starting to go. That's not bad.

Keep the sweat off your bike

There definitely are cheaper alternatives, but this sweat net is very easy to set up and use. I use rollers all winter and like the piece of mind.
