Kinda heavy
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Heavier than i'd like, and the attachment system is kinda janky. Probably should have purchased a pannier set.

I purchased this rack for my school bike. Installation was easy and works like a charm. Highly recommended.

Still the standard rack
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
There are so many "innovative" rack designs these days but they tend to be overpriced or have fatal design flaws/incompatibilities. This standard Blackburn rack is still probably the best for the money. I've had one for years and just bought a new one for a second bike. Unfortunately, the current version is not as pictured in that only one of the struts (on each side) flares outward at the bottom for attaching a hook or bungee cord. This makes it more awkward to attach two hooks at the same time. Another minor gripe is that the included screws were all either too long (hitting the freewheel) or too short (insecure) for the strut attachment at the bottom, so I had to rummage around for compatible screws.

Does this rack come with seat stays included? Or do I need to purchase those separately?

You would need the disc-specific model; I know it's 2+ years, but I figured I'd answer this for general info. http://www.competitivecyclist.com/blackburn-ex-1-disc-rear-rack?ti=UExQIENhdDpSYWNrczoxOjE6Y2NDYXQxMDAzOTU
