I was psyched to try this on, being a super light and functional alpine harness, but couldn’t get it to fit. As a disclaimer, I have rarely found a fixed leg loop harness to fit. This was no exception. I don’t know why they only make fixed leg loop harnesses for super skinny legs (Petzl is way worse). The legs on the XL actually fit me, albeit tightly, but the waist couldn’t synch down and was too loose. Looking at the design and they certainly could have changed where the webbing hits so that it could tighten more around the waist. The size L has 2” smaller leg loops per the chart so not even worth trying. Maybe this is all starting to give me a complex. I measure 34” waist and 27” thigh for reference. I don’t think these are abnormal measurements at all, but am forced to use adjustable leg harnesses and this wasn’t the solution I’d hoped for. Looks like an amazing harness though if it does fit you!

I've put it through the wringer

This is my go to harness for ice climbing. It's easy to get on and off, very slim, four ice clipper slots, and lightweight. I took this with me while rock climbing in Chamonix and it performed very well on trad and sport, although hanging belays are the only downfall with no padding.

Fully functional, practical and LIGHT!

I've put it through the wringer

I've had this new BD harness for a month now and I've been putting it through the ringer. Since owning it I've climbed mountains, had it in the gym, committed to several short falls and multiple large rappels - it's been used in snow/glacial/ropteams, sport and alpine trad lead climbing. In short I have NO complaints - the harness has 4 practical gear loops, a 5th in back, and at LAST two hard points and a speed buckle. BD has finally given a solid and realistic answer to Petzl ultra light with all the functionality of a standard harness - I'v owned a couple couloir and though they function they are far to minimalist and this has answer the call of my needs. While it is NOT a Cadillac it maintains a surprisingly comfortable fit for as streamlined as it is. Fantastic buy that I'm going to beat the hell out of for a few years.
