Distance Carbon FLZ Trekking Pole

As any seasoned pro knows, weight can make or break a distance hike, but equally necessary for efficiency with a large pack is a trekking pole or two. The Distance Carbon FLZ Trekking Poles are made from carbon fiber, which keeps the weight down but keeps strength and durability up. Twenty centimeters of adjustable length makes them versatile as well, so you can fine-tune their size to match the terrain.

A lightweight EVA handle and foam extension doesn't add much in the way of ounces, but it does add all day comfort during 20 mile days, and the foam is moisture-wicking as well, so there'll be no case of clammy hands slipping on a steep slope. The Carbon FLZ comes complete with interchangeable carbide and rubber Tech Tips, too, so you can confidently cross from grassy valley to rocky scree slope without batting an eye.

These hiking poles have a 1-year warranty and naturally I started having problems 1 year 3 months after I got them. The tips will bend sideways on occasion. I can bend them back, but it's happening more and more frequently. These are light and comfortable, but the longevity just isn't there.

Light, strong comfortable. If you don't need folding then this is the perfect pole.

Lightweight, Compact

These are great trekking poles for when you want to pack poles away! They perform super well when out, but are extremely easy to collapse and adjust.

Light but disposable

After light use on a handful of occasions these started splitting by the buttons. Typically this was just outside the warranty period so you may be lucky and get a year out of 'em. Otherwise I'd have said they were good, however I'd recommend checking out other options.

The Perfect Backpacking Pole

I’ve liked these trekking poles a lot so far. They’re super light and easy to store in smaller packs, and I haven’t had any problems with them collapsing mid hike. They kept me upright on a pretty steep descent - saved my knees for sure. Looking forward to testing them out on some longer hikes. Overall, a great purchase!
