Trail Pro Shock Trekking Poles

The Black Diamond Trail Pro Shock Trekking Poles are lightweight and shock-absorbing, the perfect companion for long, rocky trails. Control Shock Technology absorbs impacts on the ground so your final mile feels as good as the first, and its controlled rebound prevents the pole from bouncing back too much, as some poles are prone to do. The foam grip provides a bit of insulation to keep your hand warm during chilly hikes, and the padded webbing strap makes each pole specific to your left and right hands for easy access and extra comfort. The aluminum shaft is both durable and lightweight, and FlickLock Pro lets you collapse and deploy the length with ease for fuss-free transport through the trail's ups and downs.

Great trekking poles!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
women's model
Height:
5' 7"
Weight:

These trekking poles work fabulously on hikes with lots of elevation gain/loss. The pole clips to extend/collapse are easy to use. The comfort handles and the shock absorbers are helpful on long & challenging summer hikes. The poles are lightweight for carrying in luggage. I've only used them for about two weeks. Hopefully, the poles will serve me for a long time!

Great poles, poor longevity

Really enjoyed these hiking poles. Sadly, after a year of weekly use, they have broken. I got them a year before I started using them regularly and the 1 year warranty is pretty short. Not sure I will repurchase, don’t want to have to replace each year! Good option for folks who use them less frequently, perhaps!

Trekking poles

By far the best poles I have used. Comfort grip, those poles stay at the height they are set at. The only down side is they need to include a set of rubber tips, I had to purchase these seperately.

Two knee replacements

Trail Pro Shock Trekking poles have added miles and comfort. This octogenarian is back on the trail-despite two knee replacements. Perfect for balance and security on uneven landscapes. My confidence and joy is soaring!

Other BD models are better

The pull to telescope mechanism broke within 200 miles. Seems like too much tech in this model, older BD poles are better, I still have some that outlasted this new pair.

Dream poles

The shock absorber makes hiking with these poles like walking on a cloud. Love them.

Love these hiking poles. Lightweight and are perfect for my backpacking and hiking adventures. Only dislike is I can feel hotspots forming from the straps on my thumbs. I was excited because these were quite the upgrade from a previous pair, including having a softer material on the straps but somehow still had some irritation. Did not get blisters after all the miles with them though!

Great Sticks!

I bought these sticks for my wife when she walked the The Camino de Santiago. I started using them after she returned and liked them so much I kept them and bought her another pair. I never bothered to investigate how the women's poles differ from the men's, but I've yet to have someone on trail stop me and say, "Hey, you know those are women's poles, don'cha?" They're light, the pole clips are secure and easy to adjust, and the shock absorber is easy on my aging arthritic wrists. Plus, after a friend bent the lower shaft on a pole, getting a replacement shaft was simple and straightforward. And the folks at Black Diamond were friendly, responsive, and helpful in getting back to my emails. You get what you pay for with these poles. Happy Trails
