Better than an extra pair of legs.

Don't let rugged terrain get the best of you or your knees—you'll be able to power through the tough spots and leg-grinding downhills like a champ with the help of the Black Diamond Trail Pro Women's Trekking Poles, which feature a tough aluminum shaft and new Double FlickLock Pro extension system that's made of stainless steel to increase clamping force and durability. Whatever terrain you find yourself in, you'll be as steady and sure-footed as a mountain goat, courtesy of interchangeable rubber and carbide tips, a women-specific dual-density grip and padded strap, and foam grip extension that's ideal for switchbacks and steep trails. The Trail Pro weighs in just over one pound per pair, so you'll hardly even notice them in your hands or lashed to your pack.

    Great trekking poles!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

These trekking poles are great! I gave them to my wife and she appreciates that they are light weight and telescope to a smaller size for storing and carrying. Always great to have for an extra strenuous hike!

Bought for my mother and so far so good. Three part shaft is great for traveling with. Definitely helped with some of the longer hikes we've done.

    Great trekking poles poles!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have used these trekking poles in both fall and winter hikes and have loved them! They are super light, very customizable, and the locks work perfectly. I love how small the poles can get when you collapse them down. I have enjoyed these poles on many hiking and snowshoeing adventures so far! Would recommend.

    Love these poles

These poles are awesome! I've hiked with them a couple of times and have appreciated them every time. The grips are comfortable and they are nice and light. They were super helpful hiking through the Narrows.

New to this Hiking Pole Thing

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have to admit that I have never used hiking poles before. But when I knew I was going to hike the Narrows again, I knew that it would be helpful to have. It took a little bit to get the hang of the hiking poles, but they were really nice to have on normal hikes (they're amazing downhill and really help relieve pressure on the knees,) and especially in the Narrows while hiking over river rock. These are great poles and collapse to a reasonably small size that is easy to attach or even throw into a day pack. Would recommend.

Despite her initial hesitation, my mother has really warmed up to her first set of trekking poles. It can be tough to admit that our bodies lose the balance and mobility we enjoy when we are younger, but products like this can go a long way towards keeping us active and comfortable.

She particularly likes the light weight and adjustable height; both for storing when not in use and dialing in just the right feel for a day on the trail.

One note worth mentioning is that while they do allow for interchangeable tips, the rubberized tips were not included in the package and had to be purchased separately.

These are really changing my hiking experience. I have pretty bad hips and these have been so helpful with eliminating the uncomfortable joint strain while Im trudging up a leg burner. These have an adjustable range for different heights, an ergonomic grip, and are pretty lightweight. I plan on buying a second pair for my mom! Just like the description says " sure-footed as a mountain goat"

    Mom is Thrilled!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

My mom blew out her ACL this winter skiing and was really worried about getting out and hiking this summer. Got these for here birthday and she is ecstatic! Really solid design on the locking mechanisms so the poles don't slide. I've alwaus been really hesitant of collapsible poles because the few I've used have always slipped. I put most my weight on them and they still didn't budge. Mom's taken them out on a few short hikes while she's rehabbing her leg she really likes them so far.

    Great Poles

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought these as a gift for Nana, here is what she had to say.
Great poles for hiking and backcountry skiing. The sticks have a solid feel yet lightweight and the locking tabs are easy to use.
They are lighter weight than my husbands vintage BD sticks which have compression locks that can be troublesome in cold weather. One word of note; the sections will release completely from the shaft tube if extended too far. Note sure if this could be a potential problem in the backcountry if your clips accidently disengage while bushwhacking in deep powder or off trail but the locks seem secure. Would be nice to have an inner lip or ring to secure the sections inside the tube. Overall, I love the poles and very satisfied with my purchase. My only issue is that for the price, they should have included the rubber tips....

    Great Poles

These were the first hiking poles I have used, and they helped me a lot on a winter hiking trip (I would have had a very difficult time without them). The locking mechanism works well, and they come with two different sets of baskets. My only critique is that they were a little bit difficult to get into a duffel bag (I needed to avoid checking a bag at the airport and couldn't leave them strapped to the outside of my pack. Also, I never received the rubber tips that are mentioned in the "details" section. Overall though, these worked great and I anticipate using them a lot.

    Great Poles

    Great Poles

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used these for hiking in all four seasons & they work great. I was anti-poles for a long time, but they really do help with hills. It turns hiking into a full body workout & gives the knees a break on the way down. They fold down very nicely for scramble sections & I have never had any issues with the adjustments. I would suggest powder baskets for snowshoeing.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love these trekking poles. I was hesitant about purchasing poles but have found these are easy to use, light weight and CONVENIENT. I even used them snowshoeing last season. I highly recommend them. Cheers to many long treks ahead.

    Great decision

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was debating purchasing the Trail Pro Shock trekking poles instead of these, but these were on sale and I saved $40 (per pair) compared to the shocks. At full price, I would have gone for the shocks.

These poles are really awesome. I tested these poles slightly in a store to test the flick locks before purchasing and was rather impressed. They are really light and the grips and wrist straps are really comfortable. They came with the summer/trekking baskets attached and snow baskets on the side. The carbide tips are standard. I didn't see any rubber tips included, but I may have missed them.

I also really enjoyed the fact that they could collapse so small (with 2 flick locks, 3 pieces of pole). Some poles only have one joint and two pieces of pole, which means a longer pole strapped to your pack when you aren't using it. Also - this set is a pair of poles (not just one).

Great set of 4 season poles

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Flick locks feel sturdy, easy to adjust and the extended grip makes walking uphill a breeze. I wish they came with non-carbide tips for softer trails but I believe these can be purchased separately from BD. I'm excited to use these in the Cascades this Spring.

Great set of 4 season poles
    Unanswered Question

How durable are these? I'm looking for lightweight, but strong pole for Wind river range hike (known to eat poles). Thanks!

Can these be broken down to fit in a suitcase?

Hey Caroline - These poles collapse to 59 cm so as long as your suitcase is longer than that diagonally then they will fit no problem. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

Does this come with both rubber and carbide tips? The description leads me to believe it does.
