    Super comfortable. Good size

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

Great. If you are careful then you can have your rope flaked in the bag, get to the crag and deploy it pre flaked and ready to climb. Easily swallows a 60m rope and a bunch of other things (harness, shoes, draws etc). When done, just pick up the edge and slide the rope back in. Has two straps on the corner to manage the rope ends.

Why didn't I get purchase this sooner?

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I really wish I had decided to pull the trigger and purchase this rope bag/tarp sooner. I was put off at first by the weight, but the ease of which you just dump the rope on the tarp and can either burrito wrap the rope or just use it as a chute is amazing. The strap is as comfortable as it gets and carries much nicer than a double strapped backpack style rope bag. The "triangle" of the chute isn't as severe has I thought and the tarp is plenty large enough for any endeavor. Highly recommend.

    Great!

The shoulder sling is super-comfortable, and makes carrying even 80m ropes a breeze. Wouldn't trade it for anything else!

    Great Construction

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This rope bag is great, you can easily fit two ropes inside, and synch it up with the drawcord and the straps to make it super compact for the size.

    Great bag for the price

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

I have used this bag a few times with my 70m rope and it has worked great. Enough room to pack it in easily and is easy to cary. The added internal tarp is a great feature when you want an all in one bag instead of packing an extra tarp. The bag is light weight and carry's well and is made out of durable material and will last on longer hauls. If you are looking for a great rope bag for the price check this one out.

    Worth the money.

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Going from a tarp to a rope bag like the Super Chute was worth every penny. It keeps everything tidy, helps keep the rope kink/knot free, and it allows you to throw the rope on someone else who forgot to bring a pack.

    Good bag w/ minor inconveniences.

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

Its a good, solid rope bag. Nice sized tarp and Green & Red tie-in points. The 2 large barrel compression straps are great for cinching down the whole bag. My issues with it are: 1. The skinny closure cord is excessively long when you pull the whole thing shut. Becomes annoying when it flails around and gets caught on things. It's just one more thing manage. 2. The 2 shoulder strap adjustment points... WTF is going on there? If you're switching off carrying the bag with someone and they need to adjust the strap length for carrying comfort, it can take quite a bit of time and effort to fiddle with this part. (And getting the strap length is important so that the whole rope bag doesn't swing around, potentially making you lose balance on a sketchy approach.)

    Near perfect

Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Great size, nice big tarp, I like the closure and straps but it would be a 5 star for me if the shoulder strap were more adjustable. Other than that, I'm 100% happy with it. It holds my 60m rope and the ropes I use to build anchors.

    Great bag

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

I love the bag for the price. It is simple easy to use. It has plenty room for my quick draws, harness and shoes. It also has nice size mat to flake road on

    Simple rope bag.

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

Simple no frills rope bag. Everyone should have a ropebag when climbing. We rarely coil ropes anymore and never have tangles.

    Great Bag

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

Awesome rope bag with more than enough space to hold my helmet (wear one!), harness, and shoes too. The easy cinch makes it simply to expand the bag size as needed for whatever I'm hauling. Fold out tarp keeps my rope tidy and easy to stash at the end of the day. Comfy neck strap too.

Great rope bag. Black Diamond does it again. Simple and easy to use. I will take this bag every place I go.

    Great Gym Bag

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

I bought this bag to use primarily for the gym and some short approaches. I've tried carrying it on longer approaches and the shoulder strap definitely does not distribute the weight effectively, and digs into your shoulder if you wear it for long periods of time. However for the gym it works great. The fold out tarp is awesome and keeps my rope nice and clean. I've carried my 70 meter rope, harness, draws, biners, and shoes in this bag and everything has packed in well. FYI also doubles as doggy pillow (Scout, the pup, tested and approved).

    Such a cute pup!

great size but straps and logo are poor

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

The bag has a great roll out tarp that keeps your rope clean (quite large). The only issue is when rolled up with rope, the bag sometimes isn't the most comfortable to carry. The straps could be a bit more padded and the bag sometimes has a tendency to flip upside down when being carried. Also, I've had the bag for the year and the logo is peeling off (see photo).

    Great Investment

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This was one of my better purchases. It's durable, easy to carry, and has enough room to carry my rope as well as my sport climbing gear (shoes, harness, draws). It's also convenient being able to easily wrap up the rope to move it.

Solid bag that does the job

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I use this bag with my 60m 9.8 rope. I also squeeze in both my sport and trad gear and the bag holds up well. I like that there is a rope mat attached to the bag as well. In the end I really enjoy it but would love it more if it had straps to carry it on my back rather tan throw it over my shoulder. Still, I'm happy with how it functions and holds up.

    Solid bag

This bag is definitely purpose built to help you carry and manage your rope, and it does a good job. It's light weight and not-at-all bulky, yet easily large enough to manage my 70m rope. The one concern initially was that it just has a single shoulder strap for carrying it rather than double straps to use it as a backpack, but that hasn't been a problem at all. I'd highly recommend this bag.

    Great Bag

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

Holds my 60m 9.8 rope with room to spare. I store my anchor building ropes with it. The tarp is plenty big to protect the rope while on the ground and packs up nice and tight. very light too. When my son steal's it from me, I will buy another one.

I have a set of Half ropes and am looking for a rope bag big enough for both of them. Would this have room for two 8mm 60 metre half ropes?

This should work if you coil them nicely. I use this bag and have a 70m 9.8mm rope. I typically just pile my rope and roll it in with a little extra room to spare. When I coil it the rope bag has a lot of extra room to cinch down.

is there enough room in this after you put...

is there enough room in this after you put the rope in to put extra stuff like quickdraws or gear in it??

Yes, but not a lot. If you had a small rope that didn't take up much space (like a 9.5 mm), you could probably get ten draws and your harness in there, and then clip your shoes on the outside. A bigger concern is that it's not very comfortable to carry much weight in.

yea i have an edelweiss 9.8 curve so that will hopefully work out, im actually thinking of putting cloths in it because im going to my dads house in illinois and i want to have this as a carry on so i can just put like a few t shirts and stuff in it.thanks a lot for your help

Yes, you should have plenty of room. I have a 60m rope that is 10.1mm thick and I have plenty of space. In fact, you could probably fit a rack of gear and still be fine. The downside to this bag, is that it only has one strap, which makes carrying it very uncomfortable.

Anyone have trouble with the strap/buckle...

Anyone have trouble with the strap/buckle closure system being very difficult to close after some use of the bag?

I've not seen any problems with those buckles even on pretty beat up super chutes.

The buckles on mine are super robust. Never had any issues with them.

I think the tolerance on the opening for the buckle is too tight for the strap. After the strap get's dirty it was really hard to pull and tighten. A minor issue but frustrating when you can't loosen or tighten the buckles very easily
