I don't like it.

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

All of my headlamps are from Blackdiamond, this one is my least favorite out of all of them. It kinda sucks. The main lamp is not the bright lamp, when you boost it, it turns on the side lamp as the boost, totally backwards from what is happening in their other headlamps. I like the touch sensor on the side, but that is about it. No, I would not recommend this headlamp to anyone. It is big and bulky and overall it just isn't a very good headlamp. All the other ones I have from Blackdiamond are fine, the Icon, Cosmo, Iota and Revolts. I would grab any of those before grabbing this one. Of all the ones in their lineup, I'd pass on this one.

Never worked out of the box

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought 2 of these- one for me and one as a gift. Mine works great. The other one is knackered- the main beam doesn't work, the red light is always on, strange blue lights activate... no relation at all to the switching sequences or whatever. I presume there is some sort of damage to a circuit board. I am in the Middle East so can't return it. We travel a lot for ski touring trips in the Caucasus/Asia and are careful to buy equipment that is dependable. Really disappointing that a good brand is producing stuff that simply doesn't work. POS- don't buy.

Trusty headlamp

I keep my headlamp on hand for all my adventures. From taking the dog out early in the morning to camping, this headlamp is waterproof, has multiple brightness setting and super durable.

Go To Headlmp

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This headlamp is awesome. A few other brands make similarly spec'd headlamps on paper, but this definitely the best built one Ive found in the price range. Its sturdy, highly water resistant, and full of features. My only beef is that the button presses needed to switch between modes/lights/brightnesses, etc is a little tricky to learn. Once you get the hang of it though, the thing is awesome.

Great new headlamp

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have used this headlamp quite a few times since I have owned it. It is very easy to use and has a lot of different light settings. The batteries last for a long time and you can even go into the light boost mode if you really need to brighten things up. The other three color options are great if you are around a group of people and do not want to blind them while talking. Check this one out if you are in the market for a new headlamp.

Solid Headlamp

Super solid and durable, lasts a super long time, and holds up through the rain. The higher lumens is awesome for hikes in the dark and the strap is comfortable to wear on your head.

Great Lamp

I like how bright this is and it seems to have a more durable construction than the Petzl lamp I own.

Beyond bright

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This Headlamp is beyond bright. Like having a Lighthouse attached to your forehead. I like the ease of use, the waterproof construction and the buttons that you can operate easily with bulky gloves on.

Also works incredibly well in the cold. I have been using mine for dawn patrols and the battery life and brightness holds up, even in the chilliest weather. I also find the light memory for the previous use to be exceptionally helpful when wearing gloves and toggling it on and off. Highly recommend

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

It had been a few years since I got a new headlamp, and let me tell you! This headlamp was bright and had many cool color features. Gettin gup to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night was no scary feat. I ttok it down Cataract Canyon for 6 days and loved the peace of mind of it being waterproof durin gour night floats. 10/10 would reccomend.

Great Headlamp

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

My go to headlamp that will last. Love the lock feature so it doesn't accidentally drain the power when its rolling around in my bag. I bought two and left one in my glove box to lend to a friend/ backup in case batteries die

Easy to use and reliable for weekends in the backcountry.

Slight learning curve

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

All these functions are controlled with two buttons which can be hard to remember when you haven't used it in a while. A smaller cheat sheet is included in addition to the larger manual that you could bring along in case. I feel that PowerTap( capacitive touch on right of headlamp ) could be utilized beyond dimming.

Go to headlamp for the camping bin!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Bought this guy for our camping bin and it's always the one I take first. We've bought this in the past and keep reverting back to this one to get more. Super reliable and easy to use on any outdoor evening adventure.

So far, so good👍

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

It is much better then my other headlamps and just a little heavier. The various light intensities are great and I love the locking feature since I've found headlamps turned on by accident before. Seems really rugged and I like how easy it is to open yet it it secure too.

Let there be light

Love the BD headlamps!!! Picked up this as a replacement for one I lost in Oz. The settings are useful, the light is bright enough for getting around camp and the battery lasts a long time. I especially like the love feature so it doesn’t turn on when you don’t want it to

Love it!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Love this headlamp. It's very bright and pretty lightweight. I really like all the different functions that it has. Only complaint is it's a bit tricky trying to remember how to access all those different functions. Super solid design.

>Rating:

Does this headlamp have a lock mode? Almost every time I reach into my pack for my older BD lights, they've managed to turn themselves on and are usually completely dead.

Hey Hank, This new model does have a lock mode. With the power off in white light mode, hold the power button down for 6 seconds. The light will cycle through red then then the light will turn off and the blue light will flash indicating the lock feature is active. To unlock just hold the power button for 6 secs. Let me know if there is any other questions.
