The award-winning Spot 325 Headlamp is back, redesigned with a lower, lighter, and even brighter profile. Black Diamond updated the user interface to include a second switch for fuss-free lens mode selection, which allows you to switch easily between proximity and distance lighting, or change to strobe or red night-vision. Peripheral lighting comes in handy for close-range activities at camp, and if you turn the headlamp off at any point, Brightness Memory keeps track of your last used setting so you don't have to fiddle with the headlamp each time.

The Eye of Sauron Has Nothing On This
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I've used this headlamp multiple times during my backpacking trips through out the night in the woods, primarily to relieve myself in the middle of the night. I have also used it to traverse the woods. Let me tell you, it is plenty bright for me. I feel like I have a spot light mounted to my head when I have this thing on. I used lithium batteries in it, and the battery life seems to be very solid. The maximum brightness just by tapping the side is very convenient, but more convenient is the lock. I have other lights without this, and I have had those lights lose all of their power because they got accidentally turned on in my backpack. The lock on this headlamp is fairly easy to turn on and off and works in making sure it isn't on for no reason, draining battery. The head mount has a tilt to it as well, which is very nice. I wouldn't get it very wet though. I don't think it can survive water all too well, as the battery compartment has nothing to seal out water, and thus, water can and will get in there if submerged. Overall though, it seems to be a very high quality, very bright, and very capable headlamp and I highly recommend it.
