    You’re in glacier country now.

Wear the Black Diamond 12-point Serac Strap Crampons with your favorite pair of trekking boots for blissful hikes over steep, icy terrain. The Serac’s strong front points chomp into crusty snow and ice slicks, while like secondary points add essential stability. These crampons’ included ABS plates prevent snow from balling up under foot, and their curved link bars make for simple length adjustments.

    Works great

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These work great on my climbing boots. I prefer the straps as to the clip on ones, to me they are more secure, less likely to knock them off. Even being straps they are still quick to put on and remove. I have had no problems with them so far.

Seemed Nice Just Not For Snowboard Boots

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Would not stay on my size 11 snowboard boots. I know snowboard boots are not really designed for crampon use but the toe strap on these was just too narrow to wrap around the tip of a snowboard boot. Tried on Petzls and Grivels as well and this one seems to have the most potential (others were not as long) but kept sliding off no matter how tight. My buddy rented black diamond strap on crampons that look like an older model or something but the toe strap was much wider and thus wrapped around his snowboard boot better and had no problems. Maybe I can find some of those somewhere...
