Long lasting and light.

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This durable probe is the perfect size. System is easy to deploy and dependable. doesn't take up too much room, and is a great length. I've used it as a stick clip for sport climbing.

The probe I can trust

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've used it a couple of times during training sessions. The probe is pretty long, which is always better. The assemble timing is and order of 2-3 sec once you've got enough practice with it. I'd also admit that this probe is sturdy so I can be pretty sure it won't break when I need it most (I hope I won't).

Safety First

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I recently purchased this probe as a gift after having one of my own for a few seasons. It has not been used it for its intended use (thank goodness), but it fits well in an Avy pack and the quick draw features seems to work well when testing out the probe.

Gets the job done

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Lightweight and it has a great system to easily deploy the probe quickly. Seems pretty study too. Another great product from BD!

when in doubt, whip it out.

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Very quick to deploy with a big pull cord handle. It folds up shorter than most other probes which makes it easier to store in smaller packs. BD is also a Utah based company so I love to support them!

Keeper

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Compact and easy to deploy, this probe finds its place in my backcountry/patrol pack. I deploy mine often for use in drills and beacon practices and it has kept up without issue. The length is ideal for any professional use and graduated measurements are ideal for snowpits. The reinforced tip penetrates frozen debris well and produces very little deflection. A must have for any snow pro.

Compact

Have you had any issues with the markings getting scratched if you use a cord for snowpits?
